Wee Kim Wee is a really nice guy and easy to love. He projects a father figure. However, he is far too much of a nice guy to stand up to the government and wear his other hat of defending the national reserves. Ong Teng Cheong came up from the PAP but he has the guts to stand up to the government. He certainly took his job very seriously, which irritated the PAP...they wanted yes men for presidents. I choose Ong Teng Cheong as the better president although I really prefer Wee Kim Wee as a person.

Yes Yes.. I strongly agreed wif u.. Ong Teng Cheong is e president who dare to voice out his ideas.. ideas which e PAP dun approved.. While for Wee KIm Wee.. he belong to e "guai guai" type.. which PAP wan.. instead of discussing how Wee Kim Wee is subserviet to the PAP, why not abt how he tried his best to serve the people well?

lol i know a person who said that WKW's kind of like her idol, because he looks very kind, and she took a liking to his face the moment he became president, and she said she like OTC's face too , but when she saw GCT's face she took an instant dislike

When the powers are offered to the president, Mr Wee declined to continue a next term that he could do what Mr Ong Teng Cheong did when he was President but he didn't.
Good person and good president are two different things.
If you guys do think Mr Ong tried, though in not a very welcomed manner, then Mr Ong is the only choice of answer. Mr Ong is clearly a loss to Singapore, even if his own comrades really deserted him or whatever.
My humble view. -
They're both good. And dead. I didn't know either of them well enough to compare, so I'd rather remember them for their goodness instead.
Speaking of which, the 2005 Presidential Elections should be coming up soon. As potential voters (provided there is no walkover again), maybe we should focus on whether President Nathan has done a good job filling the big shoes of his predecessors. -

ppl treat him as a peoples president cos he's been contributing to singapore for so many yrs..even after he step down from president..but then ong teng cheong didn't hav such a chance now..so we can't compare both of them..each has their good points one way or another..

If the God has any any foresight at all, over-zealous to fill what heaven with good souls means problems in the mortal world, in turn lesser good souls would be generated for heaven, and the more eager this God will have to send for good souls...
Which is no good.
The more efficient this God is to quickly fill its heaven, the more less effective is heaven in the future.
If God is almighty and holds divine wisdom, then heaven must be perfect democratic and God is not autocrat. For if he is indeed autocrat, he won't be foolish enough to do such short-sighted thingy. Good souls should stay longer in mortality to help good souls and create a good environmen. Ie. Satan should be busier than God, not vice versa, in searching trash for hell.
