Do you know? These day, road building contractors are tendering at what price??? Let me tell you, is dirt cheap.ok!!! What do you mean by subsidy? Aren't the road users not paying road taxes? I estimated the land used is approx. 2000 square metres including whatever are needed to incorporate and forming into carparks are spelt below.Originally posted by iamgoondu:Zaobao reported that a temporary car park (80 lots) will be built at Holland V at a cost of $2.08 million.
THe temporary car park shall have a life span from begining Jan 2006 till Dec 2009 (CCL expected to complete by then).
From above figures ($2.08m, 80 lots, 3years), the car park lot needs to fetch $23.74 a day.
However, the maximum amount a car park lot can fetch is only $20 (based on $0.5 per half hour from 0700h to 0100h, and $2 from 0100h to 0700h).
So whatever authority would definitely incur a loss of $327624.
So never, ever says that parking charges @ $0.5 per half hour is expensive again, it is subsidised too.![]()

I could say max 1.5 million including drainage, pavement , kerbs, thermoplastis painting, signages and the Authority's administration. The job duration would only be maximum 4 months. Why $2.08 millions???????????

If I am right, except for the market, all the shophouses there are privately owned. That's probably explained why the shophouses have the height limits (not more than 2 storey high), and that's probably also explain the run-down state of holland v.Originally posted by skyline63:Use your brain lah ! PAP leh ! Will PAP make a loss money business ? Raise the rental can already. Why not ? Say you make temp carpark.
Rental $6000, become $8000 loh ! Easy right ? Then food price also goes up loh. Easy right ? Pass the bill to the customer anyway got money drive there. No money to pay huh ? HahahahH!!!!!!
