  During war, soldiers are subjected to extreme and intense stress that u can't comprehand if you are not there, so it is still a possibility that you will be the one raping people and your teamates shooting you. Humans are known to act on their instincts when under tremendous stress.
  Not everybody can handle seeing their best buddies dying right in front of them and be unscathed deep inside.
  Also, absolute power corrupts, this has been tested in a experiement where even the most gentle peace-loving people can turn into abusive guards when they are given the power to be "god".
