Hong Kong got no PAP

Hong Kong don't have PAP or Lee Kuan Yew
Hong Kong is just as efficient as Singapore....maybe even more efficient....
So could we have done just as well , perhaps better even if PAP was not around? I mean was the PAP indispensible to the existance of Spore? -
They got worse, they have the central government.. in short.. you wanna be sued here or be executed there?

Look at the current situation in HK now
Their freedom and right to vote is slowly being restricted now.
Now all their Chief Executives will just nominate themselves and simply wait to be selected by Beijing. -

HongKong, Korea, Japan and Taiwan are governed the masses with the politicians serving as servants to the people.
They will outperform countries where the government is dominated by only a few men at the helm.
Besides the danger of abuses of power, nepotism, corruptions (legally taking is worse than occasional covert corruptions as the whole amounts of taking is very huge} the greater number of people and NGOs deliberating and carrying the tasks of running a country will produce more effective and competitive talented management than system deliberating behind closed door by means of self-serving top-down decisions or controls.
HongKong and all the rest of Asia who are governed by the mass participation process will prosper and outperform our system given to too much self-ness and egotism.
A system of government run on mass participations by a whole team and accountable processes will bring about greatest good to the greatest number of people. -

I think our government is soooo jealous with them that after Hong Kong return to mainland China,our ministers,especially Lou Lee,give alot of crappy ideas to the communist China on his dictatorial ruling experience n bring down Hong Kong economy. -

I have been living in Hong Kong, parts of mainland China for the past few years. Sad to say this but as far as freedom of speech and media liberty are concerned, Hong Kong is a few light years ahead of S'pore.
We may have a democratic system but yet our ruling govt seeks to control every facet of life to the point of rooting out any hint of dissent. All these are done in accordance with the law and of course the govt makes those laws.

Speaking about economic performance, Hong Kong is also outperforming Singapore.
Singaporeans are the most indebted in the world and our wage except for public sector have been falling lower and lower since 1997 Asian Financial crisis. Our investment return is a miserable 1.4 - 4 % compared with 6% for Hongkong.
9 out of 10 businesses are struggling to keep the business surviving even as the GDP was supposed to grow by 6-10 % for 2004.
Unemployment and underemployment rate is still very high.
Hong Kong will always have the support of the mainland China. In fact China has been helping to boost HK economy. Beijing bought some of the excess properties, bad debts and has been sending her ppl to visit and shop in HK.
Lastly even if HongKong collapes, its people can always retreat back to the mainland. Many Hongkongers and Taiwanese are migrating to mainland China in large numbers. Here are the related articles:
