As the two tunnels are under Singapore River, the transport system may come to a critical halt if these two tunnels are sabortaged or bombed by terrorists. If water were to seep into the mrt tube, the consequences will be horrendous during peak hours as the flooding can go as far as Orchard station or even further, Kallang to the north and Tanjong Pagah to the west or further. As for the CTE tunnel, the tragedy may just confine to the tunnel itself.
Daming up the Singapore River may have taken away some of the threats but if the terrorists are determined, the security forces may have to think of ways to counter them and Singapore just cannot afford to let it happens!
Thanks... the terroists probably didn't think of that... and now you have given some poor guy in MHA extra job that he needs to finish before 5pm today...
