Guess what will be the natural progression of this lawsuit?
1) More shameful things will be dug out.
2) NKF will publish officially that they do not know of anything.
3) CEO will be left in the lurch.
4) NKF will fire him and he will lose his pay...
It is evident, in ST it was reported that SM Goh's wife walked out of the hearing... it is a strong signal to Durai to stop his nonsense. -

Mr Durai has dropped his charges....think Mrs GCK has told his hubby....n maybe GCK gave him a call to stop embrassing himself anyway....esp to the media...as the reporters r known to be "crownless" emperor...

I cancelled mine last year (had donated 25 per month since 1996) got really pissed with them for the following reasons:-
1. Non Profit Org running like MNC
2. Non disclosure of mgt salaries (fat pay cheques and 1st class travel)
3. High profile NKF fund raising shows on TV (WIN condo, car, BIg $$$ strategy)
4. Harressment by tele marketers (till i lodged an official complaint)
5. Enrolled me in some "club" thingy, and sent tons of reports, letters and invitation cards in GOOD quality paper and cards. waste of $$$.
6. Annual report printed in colour
7. Huge reserves. Yes they need them but XX millions?!?!!?!?
8. Arrogant behaviour: "We can raise more money, we got the brand name!!! attitude
9. Depriving other NGO of funds / donations
10. Partnership with mediacorp and singtel (always wonder how much are their cut)
11. Sueing reporter and SPH for spilling the beans
For those out there, please consider channelling your donations to other NGO or non profit org. NKF can still survive from donations from the less informed pubic! auntie and uncle type!?!?!? -

it is not too much for a Business director to buy a $10,000 toilet seat, for he is entitled to spend what the makes, but NKF directors are using money donated by the general public for those who are sick!! This is clearly an abuse of public fund.

What the hell is our MCD doing? Don't they need a permit for such charity drives? Years after years they have such drives. Their reserves are already so fat yet they are granted the permit to organise this drive.

but his inside scoop was, he was pressured to go on the show to share his sob story. prior to the filming, he has to sign some statement of agreement. and that if he refused (after being chosen to be a 'sobster'), he will have to forfeit his 'chance' at his NKF dialysis center and to find other sources. which is why, he has to wayang during the filming because his life is at stake.
and dialysis isn't free for people like him even. he is in his 60s, not in touch with his children, unemployed. NKF just subsidized to an extent. every few months he has to pay up $300+ in order to carry on enjoying the subsidizes. and hello, this $300+ is a lot to people like him ok.
this friend of my parents has passed away last year. i hope he and other NKF patients will haunt TT DURAI & their board members. -
maybe we should get those dialysis patients to come out "real" to tell us wat they feel of the NKF ... maybe conduct a survey or something .
600,000 per year is nice for tt guy to buy a diamond coffin. He is just e "suay" one that got pointed out, wat i want to know is the others ! what abt the others in high position in the company?
do we need them to run such a organisation? i dun wan my kids to grow up thinking of using a charitable drive to earn money! -
Come to think of it a few months ago NKF has send me a donation card asking for my help in public donation appeal. Never do anything until the last minute around mid june where i enlisted the help of my mum to ask her colleagues to donate,and all i see is $2,$2,$2...total $16..lol. My mum told me one of the manager commented if not for my mum's sake she wont even give a damn but NKF donation.
I feel cheated,should have kapo the money myself. -

$300 per patient per dialysis ???
Despite all the huge charity collected by kind hearted public, and the kidney patients from the lower to lower-middle income groups - (staying in 1-Room, 2-Room, or even 3 or 4-Room HDB flats) - still have to pay $300 out of their meagre incomes for each dialysis at NKF ?
All this charges resulted in a whopping $24million in dialysis fees for a single year in 2003 - despite having $220million in their reserves from charity donations over the years (ST Home Page H4) !!!
The audacity to pay himself 12 months bonus in 2003 and 2004 (at a time when retrenchments and wage reductions were the norm) reflects sheer personal greed and self-gratification !!!
The audacity of including the perks of having a fleet of Mercedes Benz costing at least $200,000 each, and with chauffers paid at least $1400 per month inclusive of OT and CPF payments - and the high costs of service and maintenance charges to support the fleet of M/Benz.
Inland Revenue should look deeper into the income and expenses of the entire Board of Directors and Managment of NKF, and reconsidering all the perks and entitlements enjoyed with the view of including these amounts as taxable incomes.
No wonder, during the 1980s, there was a tussle between NKF and Singapore Kidney Dialysis Foundation for the privilege of being the Premier and Leading Organisation to provide dialysis service, and to promote the collection of charity from the Public.
It was pure a money making plot from the beginning. -
For many of us who had known NKF to be such an arrogant, money-grabbing organization, this news is not new to us. There have always been rumours of their extragance(sp) and arrogant behaviour of NKF top board members for the last few years- all due because of their ability to con millions of dollars out of people who mistakenly took their word for it. Now it's obviously been confirmed.
It's not that I want to say "I told you so" to those who had believed NKF was a noble organization till the end- but more rather "Now you know the truth, so I hope you act on it and don't repeat the same mistake again."
And again, this case highlights the widing rich-poor gap between the have and the have nots in S'pore society. The rich are getting richer(and getting more arrogant because of that), while the poor gets poorer(and gets short shift for that).
So again, why do people continue to support the PAP and its elite(which includes the NKF people) when they themselves continue to suffer because of the very same policies the PAP enacted to benefit themselves only? It is only but a sign of many other ugly things to come. -
To those who called NKF hotline to cancel ur monthly donations, pls confirm with ur bank to ensure.
My colleague called to cancel nearly a yr ago, but when he checked last mth, they are still deducting from his acc. -
how can salary of 600k a year be peanuts??!!!!! in future, if nkf need money be go ask from those who think 600k is peanuts.

I am angry with this. We donate for them to have Benz and chauffers. Bloody hell. I think these Benz are parked at the golf courses most likely. Most of the donors are still taking the bus and MRT! The patients have to fork out their own money and travel to the dialysis centre.
