All crows in Singapore are Black in color. No surprise!!!Originally posted by taurian:must let these greedy, heartless beasts die pain pain, abused the use of donors' money & aso wicked to the alreadi unfortunate kidney patients by squeezing them so much. wolves in sheep's skins.![]()
Err?? Crows in other countries not black????Originally posted by Lowclassman:All crows in Singapore are Black in color. No surprise!!!![]()
It appears that nothing can be done to those who abused the NKF money because it would be difficult to prove them criminally wrong or negligent. and if ppl don't see punishment for such blatant abuses of public funds, they will take it out on the government during election.Originally posted by thinkloud2004:SINCE this is a political forum, lets talk some politics. Nah, I don't think it's going to have much of an impact on the elections.Originally posted by thinkloud2004:SINCE this is a political forum, lets talk some politics. The General Election is coming. I think this time it is different. When the saga first started, we saw many ppl actually took action to cancel donation, we saw ppl putting protest signs outside NKF building. We never find singaporean going all out as in this case. Its a lost of faith in an orgn well supported by the government.Originally posted by fudgester:Nah, I don't think it's going to have much of an impact on the elections.
Singaporeans are a generally apathetic lot when it comes to things like this.![]()
All say...Originally posted by mistyblue:the KPMG report was interesting and the reponses from the various people involved from the board levels are even more interesting...
surely there must be some way to deal with this scumbag, we can't let him go scot free right?Originally posted by Medicated Oil:Mr Durian is a lawyer.
He will not be prosecuted under any charges as what he have done in according to what is stated for the Charity Organisation.
So, he is not that stupid to commit a crime if he is well read of the law.
The Board of Directors will be blamed for not doing their job in exercising their control and supervision.
The Ministry involved will have to be responsible for not doing their supervision.
In conclusion, Mr Durian will be scot free as he have not commited any crime.
Unfortunately in Singapore, its not what crime you commit, but rather who you are and who you know that determines the punishment. People have gone to jail and had their lives ruined for doing a lot less while others from a different strata of society have gotten off scott free for much worse.Originally posted by kenishi1976:surely there must be some way to deal with this scumbag, we can't let him go scot free right?
I believe he is only in law by academic and not practise, or maybe he dictates the law in the NKF, that is why he is able to siphon money in and out with ease....The law in the Charity Organisation is loose and he took advantage of it. It is a despeciable action of what he did. Doubt the Board of Directors can be spared too.Originally posted by Medicated Oil:Mr Durian is a lawyer.

The patients also lose outOriginally posted by dragg:in the end everyone except the donors, will be happy and satisfied.
Dun say until like that lah.Originally posted by pat33:The Durian case tears into the heart and fabric of our society and many fingers are pointing to the govt.
Yes, it is not the Minister's directive. But responsibility flows upward. For too long, this country has been running like an Inc where it should be run like a country. For too long, this govt has been fattening its wallet despite pleading from the people to go slow on price and cost increases, in a period of worst economic recession.
NKF, sadly, is but just a mirror of the govt's mindset.
