on hindsight... the parading of NKF patients on TV.. now have a very very different bitter aftertaste.

Someone should go email Jacky Cheung about this.
Jacky is named as one of the Patrons for NKF. I'm sure he will be interested to know the recent exposure of NKF's finances and maybe he will withdraw his patronship.
This is probably the only way it will hurt them for all these dubious dealings. -

This court case exposed many discrepancies at NKF:
- 12 months bonus of $25,000/mth paid out to the CEO of a public charity
- $600K for the CEO of a public charity is deemed peanuts by the Board
- expensive $900++ tap fittings are deemed smaller peanuts by the Board in the private premises of a public charity
- 12 expensive Mercedes Benz cars on standby for the management staff of a public charity.
- undisclosed business interests in other companies who do business with NKF
- gave false patient figures to the public exceeding 1000 more.
- lied that NKF reserves could only for 3 years
- churn turnover to $100 over million but patients paid $25 million in fees and NKF paid only $7million.
- the filing of defamation suits on past and present credible whistle blowers to keep secrets from the public
I smell a con plan to quietly siphon funds to personal pockets than patient care.

i'm not so concern about the people doing dangerous stunts and stuffs. I very much more concern about the sick patients who made their efforts to go there to view the performances and even get to tell their personal stories to the public.
The sad part is that when majority of the money donated doesn't go to them, this actually creates a whole big joke out of this event... even more so, the sickly and the needy.
They need our help most. When we give, we must give with a good intention, not just to think of the rewards that we might eventually receive in return. The best form of giving is give without any expectations, and then when the reward comes, it will be even more worth it.
This is obviously making a fool out of these sickly and needy personels by parading them and told to narate their stories such that the money can go directly into the big boss's filthy pockets.
I'm not discouraging people to donate, in fact, I actually encourage people to donate to help the needy. But rather, donate wisely. If anyone approaches u on the streets to help donate to any needy foundations to help those sickly and needy people, ASK first. ASK where the money goes, and find out carefully in DETAIL of how exactly they handle such a thing.
Wisdom is the key this time to defend against selfishness. -

The most dramatic part of the NKF shows was that they made the comperes or artistes to shout at the top of their voice to appeal for your donations and shed a few crocodile tears to prick your conscience so that you donate, and your donation goes to enrich that few top guns in that so called charity organisation,our sympathy should go to those kidney patients who suffer tremendously yet they have to pay for their suffering in that dialysis! It is a plain truth now that even without your donations, the funds in NKF can go for 30 over years! Get rid of those parasites and get some minimum staff to run the organisation so that those who suffer from kidney problems are able to continue to benefit from the public donation.

i think we all have to calm down. THINK. Don't blame NKF for it.. why do people want to HURT NKF? Do you know who you are really hurting? The patients! the families of the patients! Think before you actually lash out at NKF. Turn your anger towards the board of directors. Don't say you will never donate again. Mrs Goh, a lawyer, could be seen shaking her head.
After the hearing, Mrs Goh was asked by reporters
what she thought about the way the case went.
She said it did not make sense to her to attack an organisation which helped the sick.
All the NKF had wanted from The Straits Times was a retraction, she said,
but the case had been extended to question NKF's transparency and "expensive things".
"Why make a fuss out of it?" she said.
Asked if Mr Durai's annual salary and bonuses were "excessive",

I am appalled that Mrs Goh Chok Tong would make such a comment.

One thing I'm curious.
Davinder Singh did a great job and executed his job in the utmost professional way as a lawyer. He really shoot the NKF ah siao until terok terok. BUT our dear Mrs SM did herself a bif disservice by commenting on the peanuts. Davinder Singh is also an MP. That makes him a cheng hu lang. Mrs SM is associated with NKF as its xx rep. Her hubby also cheng hu lang. Becos her comments, did the government just shot itself in the foot???? -

BOYCOTT NKF .until we receive a satisfactory reply both in words and actions ie overhaul its top management including the CEO and Board of Directors(since they are in cahoots), greater transparency, etc.
I urge all NOT to donate to tomorrow's NKF Cancer Show and to make it a farce for all to see. If you really care for cancer patients, you should donate to Singapore Cancer Foundation. SCS has already made clear they are NOT related to NKF Cancer Fund in the Straits Times Forum about 2 weeks ago.
Anyway, for others who care for the kidney patients, the intention is not to boycott donation and deprive them forever. Rather, it's to force change within the organisation. Anyway, as with the evidence on its reserves, NKF patients will not be affected with just one year of boycott anyway. -
