Any chance Singapore will collapse in the next 10 years? What will happen? or how will it happen? Any analysts here?

Short answer? Yes.
Lacking natural resources, all the country has to offer is the services of its people. If the cost of living continues to rise (pricing Singaporean labour out of a competitive world market), and if Singapore does not keep up with world standards, a collapse is entirely possible.
Is it likely? I hope not. For the first 20 years of Singapore's independence, the government did a brilliant job because it understood Singapore's position as a newly-industrialised country that could produce quality goods at a competitive price, especially with a population that was willing to shut up and do what it was told. Over the next 20 years, they lost the edge because they failed to recognise the need for the country to evolve in line with the economy. Now we've got panicked efforts to make Singaporeans more creative and enterprising, but at the same time, the advantage given to GLCs make the playing field far less than even. Right now it's up to the government to quit yanking on the leash, and instead to let Singaporeans go out and do their thing in a less strictly-regulated environment. -
Government want to be control.
GLC is one of their tools.
In fact it was the right ways to go.
Most third world country have many state own trade.
But when we upgrade ourselves from third world till now.
We become lost touch of reality and want to make use of
the same success method decades ago.
Hopefully it can be successful now. -

Sg won't collapse. The people will under debt pressures when the rise of gambling addiction, underground society from the casinos get the people especially the young and naive hooked.

I think most of us wish Singapore will be forever successful.
But unfortunately nowadays the direction government is taking us to.

However, when better conditions exist elsewhere, these MNCs will not hesistate to pull up and out of Singapore, with little thought of the impact of their policies on Singapore.
How did we become so dependent on these MNCs ?
Simple, the Government used these MNCs as the quickest way to jump start our economic miracle back in the 1970s, so as to absorb the large numbers who needed jobs - much like the present situation in which large numbers of cheap Mainland Chinese workers are available, and eagerly, hungrily looking for any kind of jobs.
The present Political, Educational, and Social Systems in Singapore has been said to be too much in the hands of the Government, much like the Central Planning of the Soviet Union Communist era government, which we now see is too lumbering and not agile enough to react to changing circumstances.
Are we not seeing this happening in Singapore, where the Ruling Party a.k.a the Government will only react after the "tsunami" of events have swept over us; and will accept alternative views only if such views do not contradict their own vested positions ?

Out of curiosity, I have purchased and read the book, and I find it amazing that for someone who seems eccentric in his Political Ways, his writings shows depth and clarity in a well researched book. -
