The man whom the British police killed had no links with the latest bombings and all the police said was " we are now satisfied that the suspect had no links with the bombings"
com'on , they killed a person with 5 shots and pushed it away like tat ..... -
Let me ask u...true,it is wrong to kill a innocent person...but would u rather kill one person to save hundred others or to let the guy do his job and killing him after it is clear to see that he is a terrorist?

As I posted in another forum, we can't blame Scotland Yard. Britain is on high alert follwoing the 2 bomb attempts in the past fortnight. It is a classic case of "shoot first, talk later". Just the sad reality of post-911 life.

i've lived in london the past 10 months and i was there for a week after 7 july. U need to understand the atmosphere of suspicion and fear that is there, n also understand, in hindsight, the best judgements are always easy to make. ultimately, if u want to blame someone, blame those terrorists who created this atmosphere that exists in london right now.

Some of them may not seem them as before and regard them as hostile.
This scenario of an innocent man, is a victory for terrorists.

5 shots , in my opinion is too much for shooting someone in the head.

They killed a person who they 'claimed' refused to answer their calls to stop and openly 'challenged' them in the tube. Evidently, there has been no newspaper reports to account for the truth of that statement. But at the same time, 5 shots to stop a man stinks of overkill and panic.
Clearly, the bobbies didn't have control over the situation and were openly nervous. They're just hiding behind their shoot-first, ask-later policy.
This is exactly what the terrorists want. Sow confusion and fear in the population...not just fear of bombs but fear of their own law enforcement who deploy triggerhappy flatfoots on patrols.
And here's the joke: there were at least 4 of the bobbies...against 1 of him. -

Why did the policemen not simply knocked that guy unconcious with the butt of a pistol, or a karate chop to the neck ?
What if any one of the 8 bullets had exited from the guys head, and stray into other innocent bystanders ?
I would rather they adopt a stereo-type approach, and target all "tanned skinned" persons in the security measures, so as not to create public inconvenience and chaos at all the transport centers.
If the "tanned skin" community cannot take it, they should pack up and return to their original country of origin, where it was probably the same conditions had been the very reasons for them to migrate to this new place of domicile.
It is amazing to hear some of the comments from some of the members of this "tanned skin" community - (over the BBC) - that they will not accept the politics, or social system, or the government policies of the adopted country, which they have migrated to, and will only accept the social security plans offered to them; but will work surreptitiously to undermine the country and society which have so generously accomodated them !!! -

There was no visible threat from the guy, so the police canÂ’t claim act of self-defense. There was no indication that he had just planted a bomb, or left a suspicious article around somewhere, police canÂ’t say they were stopping him from committing a terrorist act. He was, in the mind of the police, convicted of terrorism and deserved to die, and therefore he was shot 5 times when he was already down on the floor. This sound like an execution to me.
Was the police triggerhappy or just panic? If they are armed to the teeth now, they better not be.
What puzzled me is the reference of a Brazilian as an Asian. Would the police do the same if he were a white British? This is not an accusation of racism but this is probably a situation of non differentiation between Hispanic, middle easterners, and asian (generally refer to Indians and Pakis). There is no difference between Chinese and Vietnamese to the brit. This is in Britain, a cosmopolitan city. Few years ago, a Jap youth was shot dead in US because he didn’t understand “stop” when confronted by an American with a gun. Why is this diversity of races and cultures still causing misunderstanding? Are they not in the same society? The confirmed suspects were locally born and bred in Britain.
The world ought to be on high alert after post-911, especially Britain, if not they ought to be after they joined the US in invading iraq. Terrorists today come from within. Many immigrants from middle east, India and Pakistan, especially those from their previous colonies, are now british nationals and is part of the society. Islam is there to stay and it is inevitable that some local muslims are influenced by fundamentalist from abroad. Is Britain ready to cope?? Are all muslims and those with darker skin and beard prime suspects of terrorists??
We pray that no terrorists succeed in Singapore, in the unlikely event that this happens, lets hope that Singaporeans are ready to handle. In whatever situation, anybody who is given a gun should be responsible for how he uses it. You shoot the wrong guy, you must face the trial. Jean Charles de Menezes shot a point blank range on the London tube carriage was a victim of police incompetence. London police chief confirmed that there was a shoot-to-kill policy for tackling suicide bombers and it would not change. Mr Menezes' death raised questions about the adoption of the shoot-to-kill policy by British police.
Mr Menezes was trailed by police and was under surveillance when he was on his way to work. The situation could be contained readily, officers could intercept him at any time while he journeyed to work. Reasonable force could be used to restrain him on probable grounds , a stop and search conducted to ascertain whether bombs were concealed in his jacket.
However, they elected not to stop him, allow him to try and board a train at stockwell, south London where an officer with a automatic pistol fired eight shots at him, seven of which aimed at the head, ensuring almost instantaneous death. Horrified passengers who described the victim as looking like a cornered rabbit. This is the use of excessive force against an unarmed innocent person.
A prudent approach is absolutely vital, utmost care to be taken to ensure that innocent people are not killed or more people could be shot due to overzealousness. The independent police complaints commission certainly should investigate this fatal overkill. They have their work cut out for them. Swift compensation for wrongful death may be on the cards. -

Killing a bomber is understandable to save lives.
Killing an innocent without saving lives but aggravating the scenario is different. -

If the british police continue to be like this, the terrorists will laugh for each innocent civilian killed .
Sadly , i have lost faith in them. I would say the indonesian police were better.
