SG govt set aside bigger portion of budget for charities!

  Instead of having public appeals,auctions, or charity shows , wouldn't it be easier if Singapore government could do something?
  
  After the NKF saga, people will lose confidence in charities , charities will experience a shortfall in terms of "revenue" (putting it simply in Durai's terms)
  
  I know its alright for the singaporeans to contribute to each other , especially the richer ones donating to the poorer ones.
  
  The government should top up the shortfall yearly each time if it fails to reach the target.
  
  Shouldn't be the government responsibilities to take care of the people?
  Why has it become the people's duties to help out the charity?
  
  The people's money not just lie inside their bank account but it also lie with the government!
  
  The people are already struggling , i pity those poor school students who get shoved in the face.
  
  My suggestion to government for raising funds.
  Step 1.
  
  Place Durai on a targeting board
  
  Step 2.
  
  Participants pay $10 for 1 box of peanuts to throw at Durai.
  
  Step 3.
  
  Throw peanuts at Durai
  
  Step 4.
  
  Money contributed for a worthwhile cost.

  And they earn at least US$600k per year? It's because of their high salaries that Singaporeans have little money for their lunches.
  
  The govt shd try and ease the problems of those who are either poor, old, handicapped or almost permanently sick by helping to reduce their financial burdens(and those who have to pay for it- like their children or relatives).
  
  Medicine is not cheap in Singapore and yet the PAP says there's "no free lunch." Tell those idiots to f*** off, damnnit.

  I wonder how does the President, PM and all the Ministers and Ministers-of-State get their lunch ?
  
  Who pays for the Kitchen Team at the Istana, the raw materials that goes to prepare the daily meals for the President (and his wife? Family members too?) ?
  
  Does the PM, MM, and SM join the President for those meals ?
  
  Or do they send someone from the Istana staff, to run down to some food court or hawker center, to buy the favorite meal that they fancy for the day ?
  
  Who pays for those meals, or are they "free meals" on state budget ?
  
  What about the cost of transport in running those errands ?
  
  No "free meals" in Singapore, I wonder ?
  
  With the breakout of the enormous "peanuts" paid from the charity of poorer Singaporeans, what can we expect more from the "talented" Elites who provide supposed leadership to the LESS talented Singaporean "minions" ?
  
  Less we be accused of demanding "free meals" in this discussion, perhaps the Government should consider taking A PERCENTAGE from the PROFITS of the investments made with the SINGAPOREAN's RESERVES.
