U r lucky tat u don hv to drive taxi to earn a living.Sometime it's beyond them to break e rule.Y don u be a taxi driver for one month n see if u will behave like them?N i bet u will b one of them.U think u treasure ur life n taxi driver don treasure their life is it?R their life really worthless to u in ur eye?Originally posted by PoRen:I believe the Traffice Police always close one eye for them compared to normal vehicles. I see so many taxis breaking rules on the roads all the time. They dun treasure their lives, but I treasure mine.
Earning a living is not an excuse to flout traffic regulations. I am in sales, and I drive around Singapore to meet clients for a living, does that give me the right to flout traffic rules?Originally posted by pitchai:U r lucky tat u don hv to drive taxi to earn a living.Sometime it's beyond them to break e rule.Y don u be a taxi driver for one month n see if u will behave like them?N i bet u will b one of them.U think u treasure ur life n taxi driver don treasure their life is it?R their life really worthless to u in ur eye?
E words u say,E words u write,it will rebound back to u in another way.
All human r equal.
Yes, but a taxi-driver's income is much more closely tied to how fast he can get across town or make that u turn to catch the passenger, competing with all the other taxis on the road in off-peak periods. Combine this with long hours, high overheads and low fares and you'll find taxi-drivers have a much higher incentive to flout road laws than other drivers.Originally posted by ndsef:A lot of road users are making a living.
A lot of luck is needed as well to get good fares and the right passengers. Imagine ferrying a person who has no money or a commuter out ot rob you.Originally posted by sabaisabai:Yes, but a taxi-driver's income is much more closely tied to how fast he can get across town or make that u turn to catch the passenger, competing with all the other taxis on the road in off-peak periods. As for sales, your income should be primarily derived by how well you sell your product or service rather than how quickly you get to the destination.
Do you know what the PTC found out? Accidents involving or caused by taxis are not caused by bad driving habits of cabbies but by fatigue!Originally posted by TwilightZone:Many of our taxis are definitely nuisances on our roads. There are countless accidents involving them or caused by them. A large number of taxi drivers are hot tempered and are emotionally unstable and I am sure most of us have encountered bad experiences with them either as passengers or road users.
