Should NSF be paid the same amount as professional?

Does anyone feel that NSF are underpaid? Why do we serve NS? Some people think that to make sound nicely is to defend our country, but to make it sound bad it is that we are being used by the government as cheap labour. Singapore do not the manpower to run the entire army operations and therefore use cheap labour such as us to help run the army for 2 years. We are paid allowances with our own money! through taxes. Government is smart to ultilise the NSF to consistency run the army at a cheap budget. Therefore do you people think that NSF should be paid at least 75% salary of the job nature he is doing depending on which vocation and post and appointment in professional term. Our 2 years of youth are being abused by the government to help their understaffed army maintain its operational readiness, do you think we should be paid more fairly? Please advise

You are lucky that you are now paid $500 for being a corporal. My bro was paid only $300 plus half a decade back and he had to serve 2.5 years. But I do agree that SAF should pay according to the qualifications of the NSF. This will boost the economy and hopefully encourage professionalism. For the very simple fact that most employers do not recognise army time as work experience, the NSF should be compensated.
But of course the above is just wishful dreaming.
Your wish will not come true. To ensure your future male offsprings are not subjected to NS, migrate. -
since u say that NSFs are paid with our taxes, if they raise the salary any higher, won't that mean even MORE taxes for us?

if they raise the taxes juz to pay for the NSF increased pay, its just show the inefficiency of the governtment, besides the government have alot of money set aside for defence budget, instead of using it to buy the useless tanks, why not use it on our very natural resources, people.

pls lah.. if they really pay the market rate for the amount of work u really do in ns.... then u wont be paid $500 already... it $5........which job out there got free food, place to stay, medical, free gym, personal trainer, and some time can SLEEP whole day????
wait till u in a real working world then u know how lucky u are to be in ns...

NSFs aren't paid any salary. They're paid allowances.

I rather work at workplace.
If you don't work at workplace, at most you get fired.
If you don't work at army , you see what happen to you..
DB, caning , execution..etc..
In workplace , you can scold or even tender in your resignation and say i quit
when you win 4D.
In army , if you try to steal an officer's gf , you see what happen to you! -

One thing the government is trying to do is to import more china people here to become citizens and serve NS , therefore , the amount of NS time will go down.. -
US National Guard soldiers are paid a basic US$900 a month for their services- and that doesn't include bonuses and money to pay for the soldier's college(University) tuition fees.
The NS men are vastly underpaid while the state pays too much money for military hardware. I sense a vast un-balancing of financial priorities here honestly. -

NSF only need money for sat night to geyland chiong nia ma.Lets see

Yes, but NSFs have no choice. Regulars join voluntarily. I don't think many are gian about the meal allowanes, lodging and free medical. r u sure it we using it to buy tanks only? buying stuff and training also generate jobs for us... isn't it a form of using it on our people?
so how much should be set aside for defence vis-a-vis other portfolios? -

regulars are delegated with more responsibilities... so if something goes wrong it is the regulars that suffer most, not the nsfs that carried out the task.
regulars are paid more also because they signed on not only liking the job but also take on the risk that they will be there to put their lives at stake. nsfs???
btw never forget that allowances does not equal to salary.
