When PM Lee talked about the past, he wants us to remember that it was not easy for Singapore to come this far. The riots, the communists, the Confrontation, independence problems..we all managed to solve it. There is a reason for him to say this. He wants us to realise that just like we managed to overcome all those problems, any problems in the future can be solved too, AS LONG AS singaporeans are willing to work together. Complain about the supposed dictatorship if u want, I can't see any other form of government other than the one we have now that helped us to reach where we are today

Of course our gov is one and only. You mean Japan's post-war recovery was modelled after our leaders' Toyota's production system was taken from our books? Where is our Jurong today? I saw desolation and empty factories. -
Jurong is not desolation. Look at the green fields in Jurong and you will see occassion group of foreign talents playing soccer there. I am so proud to see singapore contributing to the development of future soccer stars in the foreigners. At least Singapore's political climate gives rise to subtle and humorous sarcasm.Jurong is not desolation.
