Maybe the method of payment for MP's monthly allowance should be revised to check the sincerity of the MP who just come onboard and at the same time to weed out those who are "trying their luck" in the coming or any other general election.

To fix an outright salary or allowance of an income equivalent to that of a director is attracting a lot of fortune hunters who are only interested in their own pockets and not the welfare of the electorates. Not all electorates vote wisely to be sure in any GE. Most may just vent their anger over a traffic fine or some minor parking fine or even some losses in the stock market!If the majority of the electorates are a stressful lots during the election day, the fortune hunters may be the winner and there will be more upsets!
Whether it is in the ruling party constituency or in the opposition's, that form of performance allowance or incentive payment should be strictly adhere to by the representatives so that the people's interest is always taken care of.
The economic situation now is bad and there are more fortune hunters out there to try their lucks! A gamble of $13,000 could win them more than 10 times the rewards plus all the privileges and respects is actually not a bad gamble after all.
