Voting is meant to choose the people that most people thinks that he/she is "more" suitable for the job.
Strange enough, lots of people do not even know who the person he/she is going to vote. Not even a short history of the person is given.
Thats politics...
Some people voted/ will vote for the ruling party simply because they don't even bother to find out who the other standing candidates were/are...
Some voted out of fear... (the govt will find out if they voted for the opposition - that means that the govt may give them trouble)...
Some voted/will vote in protest. Some voted/will vote in simple blindness - think that the govt is always right....
In all, most people don't even care....
Most pple cannot care at all. Not when the PAP is so strong it can wipe off opposition and win even b4 the GE. Not when the opposition fields lousy candidates and has no strategy to plan together. For example, the chinese version of the GE speech by SDP shows how lousy the speaker is already, face looking not nervous, but I can sense his slight nervousness from his actions of flipping the papers.
