Be thankful that HDB subsidises housing, most people in HK pay large sums of money to pay for their homes, some even have instalments lasting 20 yrs!
Amitaba... You'd get sued for this...Originally posted by suckyoudry:I have been thinking a lot recently, and come to realise something very special and beautiful about Singapore. From HDB, CPF, Hospitals to Coffeeshop, every plan and system in Singapore is carefully designed and engineered to suck your money dry. Who says Singaporeans are not creative? Instead of collecting higher taxes and having the need to provide free education and other social benifits, they do it in the form of collecting lower taxes, but integrate various forms of money sucking activities in your daily life. See? so no need to give you back anything ! SUCK YOUR MONEY DRY...YEAH! Sinkees love it.

Pertrol is something which is determine by OPEC... no doubt.Originally posted by Lowclassman:If you don't how to compare an apple with an apple then don't ask me.
Why petrol in malaysia a litre cost rm1.60 and singapore cost S$1.60? All countries buy petrol at same international price.
Hong Kong ? Usable land is much lesser than singapore and they have 8 over million people.
Do you know the cost of a 900 sq. feet apartment cost in Hong Kong?Originally posted by TooFree:Pertrol is something which is determine by OPEC... no doubt.
Living standard between Msia & Sg is different.
How about comparing Britain & Singapore...
"Hong Kong ? Usable land is much lesser than singapore and they have 8 over million people."
I don't really understand above statement.
But base on that alone,
HK=Less usable land+8 millions = high charge
SG=more usableland+4 millions= (less than HK)
hence above seem to be justified...
Honestly, I only know a bit here and there lar... but living standard is dependent on few factors. You can tell by their currency rate measured against US dollar.Originally posted by Lowclassman:Living standard in malaysia? Please be specific. Not standard is living cost. I don't see malaysian living standard is lower than singapore.
Most Chinese PR or 90 percent of them in singapore told that if they have save enough money; they would rather get the hell out of this place.
