Privatisation will rid the govt of moral obligations

  HDB will be privatised in a few years time. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Basically what the govt may intend to do is to rid the dependence of citizens
  letting itself out of any moral obligations. Frankly put, u are in charge of your own life and they do not owe u a living seems to be the inherent message.
  This plan if it is perceived to be may work if wages are sufficient, taxes are reasonable and cost of living is not pressurizing. But if it turns the other way, the people may suffer,. it becomes a situation of exploitation.

  since when anyone owes you a living ? .... that should probably have been the way a long time ago ... anyone who wants to be mollycoddled should move to cuba instead ...

  What a floozy, letting people suffer by themselves but when they try to speak up?All a sudden, it's national this and national that.BS overload.

  PRIVATISATION was a sham with two objectives :-
  
  Firstly, it was suppose to give a semblance that there is an open economy based on free market principle in which the Government has no hand in dominating the services of the country.
  
  This was done to b.s. the USA, as Singapore entered into a FTA with the USA.
  
  Secondly, it allowed the Government to sit back without being blamed for any of the price increases that is demanded by the NEW operators that provide all the essential services of Electricity Generating, Electricity Supply, Water and Waste Treatment, Water Distribution, Garbage Collection, Medical Insurance, Medical Care, Hospital Services, Transportation Services - air, buses, mass rapid transit, and taxis, Food Distribution, Communication Services - telephony, internet, and airport services - and the list goes on.
  
  In one Master Stroke, a new layer or multiple layers are created that divert the direct line of responsibility to the ultimate power center, yet the money chain all leads back into one account.
  
  The only word left to describe this masterly made scheme is "neat" .
