you know...theres a sizable number of pple in JC who find the CLAO paper too difficult and CLB too easy.
i'm one of them and if i dont pass my CLAO this year,i will have to take the 2 yr CLB course next yr.Which would be a complete waste of time,if we had put an end to MT in our JC 1st yr,we would be enjoying a much shorter timetable to concentrate on our other 3 or 4 A level subs.
its not that being english educated and having english as our medium for most of our entertainment that we do not want to make an effort to learn CL properly. But the way lessons are taught...CL period is virtually a period for RnR as it is.
The lessons (CL AO) are as traditional as a few decades ago...
teacher dumps huge swathe of text on students, read through it then go through the vocab.
in most cases, students who had scored b4 or below in CL O levels are unable to comprehend most of the questions in the exam script. This is how hopeless it seems.
and nobody in JC bothers to get MT tuition, they alrdy have alot on their hands and it costs $$$.the mentality is that,if they're so pathetic at the subject and the subjects does not seem so important compared to the other A level subs, then why spend the effort and money.
anybody else going through this predicament right now?
