Well...Originally posted by mistyblue:HK is evolving and so are everyone. Is it this bad to so call Lose ???
Is it impossible that other countries will work hard to get better?
Will HK be getting better and maybe get No. 1 for other things?
Do you think SG will forever be Number 1?
Do you think SG will find other things to be good at ?
Do you think SG will develop other capabilites to win at other areas instead of talk only?
Do you not see the whole picture which is dynamic ... not static
I know you're keen on winning the discussion .. I do not know for whatOriginally posted by sbst275:Well...
If you are talking bet HK and China...
Let's put it this way, China is helping HK and at the same time developing their own area.. Also a threat...
Why are you talking abt SG?
Just stop this...Originally posted by mistyblue:I know you're keen on winning the discussion .. I do not know for what
Whatever happens over there.. it is up to the HK and PRC to work out. But HK will not just let China walk over them. So whatever you believe, is your believe. I do not have to agree or believe what you think. Therefore if you wish to think you win this discussion, then so be it.
This Thread is about Service Culture in SG. You had deviated and I've been telling you to keep to the topic. But then hint don't work with you.
you sounds like a typical hongkonger, with very pathetic understanding of politic. N. Korea is a hardcore communist with dictatorship. China and Vietnam (no more N. Vietnam since 1976!!) remains communist countries with communist political ideology though they adopt market economy. Singapore is authoritative, but already a communist or more communist-like than China??? please enlighten us.Originally posted by mistyblue:What are you saying... Sg is already a communist or more communist-like than China.
China is slowly taking in control. But they are smart not to do it at one go so as to realise how much control is sufficient. Even if China exercise full control, but HK is flourishing. So what's the big deal about more or less control. Never under-estimate China.
Ok lah .. Whatever you think ... if you think China is interested in making everyone a commie, then its your view. Moving forward, China will move towards a hybrid. It is not a communist country anymore - It had moved and changed if you did not notice. The only ones are N. Korea and N. Vietnam where these people have dictatorship.
But whatever you think lah. I am leaving this thread and letting the topic go back to service culture in SG not HK or China.
We, singaporean do have our pride. Singaporean have pride as a nation, Republic of Singapore; we have pride as a people, Singaporean; We have pride in our society, a multi-racial, multi-cultural and multi-religious society....just to name a few. I don't want to compare with hong kong or anybody, but I think singaporean have more reasons to be proud!!Originally posted by mistyblue:HK people have pride ...
does Sg people have that?
you are absolutely right! Like one other forumite said, "it is culture, not development." singaporean have to develop our own culture of service. Service starts with each individual, it begins with a smile, a word of welcome, a word of thank....i don know what has it got to do with the government.Originally posted by sbst275:Change govt no use...
Still it is us that need to change, end of the day, we just rely on ourselve to survive
Pride about multi-racial, cultural, religious, I don't know.Originally posted by sgdiehard:We, singaporean do have our pride. Care to explain why do you think we do not have pride??
What happened to the shaw family?Originally posted by vito_corleone:i guess the whole damned point of disencouraging local entreprenuership in terms of creating cologmerates was to allow a certain family to monopolise the economy and strengthen their grip over the nation. look what they eventually did to people like the shaw family?![]()
Hanging of national flag IMO does not indicate the pride for our nation. I said it before that displaying pride for nation within singapore is for show to the political party only. When you are outside Singapore, travelling overseas, what you say and what you do show your pride for your country, and it also reflect your confidence and pride for yourself.Originally posted by Cindyfeh:Pride about multi-racial, cultural, religious, I don't know.
But I know for sure, pride as a nation is not high. Refer to:
