i think that m'sia is not sincere in holding a meeting with s'pore over the bridge -
If this is the reason that you mention, then it mean nothings at all. The new bridge is not going to steal much business. It doesnt take much time to take a tour round spore.
Take a look at the not necessary COST(billion), inconvenience and extra burden charges on ppl travelling in out. These are the more important reason. -

you mean business can only flow out from s'pore to m'sia and not the other way round, right? -
ya, I think everyone has very quickly forgotton how Malaysia and Malaysians were treating Singapore and Singaporeans over the water issue, the bridge, laughing and ridiculing at the customs checkpoints, not chopping passports, tearing passports, etc. Even saying just come to JB and spend your money, drive in JB becoz there are not enough roads in tiny Singapore, etc
When Singapore responded to Malaysia price increase for water by introducing newater, they were laughing at us drinking urine. The list goes on.

The building of one more bridge is NOT going to cause more tremendous outsourcing from S'pore to M'sia; for gdness sake, outsourcing is not conducted over highways or other roads!! You can outsource on aeroplanes too, heh? n btw, fyi, outsourcing does not require physical transportation of resources!!! -
These are issues from the past. Are we hampered by the past emotional baggage or can we set an example of new thinking and new strategies like developing a common market or looser form of economic union and let lives move on?
If our new leaders cannot start a new leaf of relationship are they worth being called the world's best talents to be paid the best self-voted rewards. Let's them pull up their socks and start moving again. -
i guess the point is it doesn't have any benefits for us at all, only negative effects like increased tolls and the cause of building the bridge not to mention the "temporary" jams and detours

Well, I think you've lost the whole plot if you argue that we shouldn't build the bridge just because of how the malaysians treat us. Without a doubt, they have little respect for us, and I can say we reciprocate that fairly evenly, so in that aspect, I guess we are pretty much quits. I think the real arguement here is-Why should we build the damm bridge? And if we do, how do we benefit from it?
