why not? at least better than thieves if you are running a company right?Originally posted by iveco:Depends on the type of offence committed. I will not have a convicted paedophile in any position no matter what.
dats y i say its a wayang....Originally posted by robertteh:One would have thought that yellow ribbon is a project to reclaim, redeem if not to resurrect criminals from the consequences of some careless acts and give them a second chance to live their lives. If so, we should look at ways to prevent new ones from getting into wrongful acts and gollecting yellow ribbons.
But look at the way we are criminalising all the small acts of wrongfulness and look at the way we are trying to send more and more ordinary people to go in and collect more yellow ribbons.
Falling rubbish, chewing a gum, failing to top up petrol tanks and letting out your flats carelessly to some foreigners etc are all new ways of ensnarling people in yellow ribbons. Why do we want to get more people in there to collect their yellow ribbons when the simplest way is to be more foregiving.
Are we a caring society or are we trying every way and means of making criminals out of ordinary people for small acts of carelessness or are we contradicting oursleves.
Are you saying those who let out rooms to illegal workers unwittingly are to be condemned until the day they die? Surely not.Originally posted by ßÇÖ®:Which company want to hire ex convicts?
Some of these convicts are habitual mentally affected sociopaths. THey will get tempted to do crime again in the right environment stimuli
Precisely.Originally posted by iveco:Are you saying those who let out rooms to illegal workers unwittingly are to be condemned until the day they die? Surely not.
But those convicted killers and paedophiles belong to a different class altogether.
I think when comes to re-employing convicts is a case-by-case basis. Basically not all are bad and not all are also good. There will always b people who regret going to jail for a stupid, silly offence and will wanna rebuild their lives once they are released.Originally posted by bila_prem:Remember the history of singapore where convicts from india were brought to singapore to build the cathederal church located around city hall. Not forgetting their hard-work building roads in singapore. Ex-convicts are will to work hard if they are given a chance. Let nature takes its course. They'll change their ways.
