it shouldn't be that way. they cannot break the very same law that they are supposed to uphold. nobody should be above the law, especially the police. in the process of justice...ok, but most of the time, i doubt it...Originally posted by BillyBong:...they have the 'right' to flout the law in the process of justice.![]()
It's like telling the traffic police: hey! you can't exceed the speed limit to catch a drunk who is already way above the speed limit!Originally posted by OneDoubleManTayar:it shouldn't be that way. they cannot break the very same law that they are supposed to uphold. nobody should be above the law, especially the police. in the process of justice...ok, but most of the time, i doubt it...
i was agreeing with u when u said that `in the process of justice, cops are allowed to break the law'.Originally posted by BillyBong:It's like telling the traffic police: hey! you can't exceed the speed limit to catch a drunk who is already way above the speed limit!
Duh!
Actually I once heard from a fren in SPF, that it is agst the law for a police car to park on double yellow lines without valid reasons. Meaning, they actually need to switch on their "disco" lights and are attending to an emergency.Originally posted by BillyBong:They are probably not alone in this.
I've seen NPP cars parked at double yellow lines in residential estates and left unattended.
Then again, so long as they aren't obstructing traffic, i've got no complaints. I suppose they have the 'right' to flout the law in the process of justice.![]()
while it would be nice for the person to give you a chance, its not wrong for him to penalise you, the rule was that no stoping at all if i am not wrong, and there is a reason for it imagine every minute theres one person who stops for 5 mins to help a client in a very narrow road( i assume that thats the reason for the lines).Originally posted by ndsef:Like to share an incident that happened to me very recently. In fact so recent that I've yet received my mailed in summon!
I was at Guthrie House at Sixth Avenue to pick up a Jap client of mine. The carpark was full and the security guard didn't allow any cars to go in. The problem is that I told that Jap guy to wait in the basement due to his big luggage. Didn't want a big client to drag such a big luggage everywhere. I tried stopping at the driveway but there was another guard there telling me to move off.
I had no choice, that jap guy did not have a cell phone here, but to park on the single zig zag line. I switched on my hazard lights and ran to the lift lobby to catch the life to the basement carpark to help my client bring his luggage up.
KNS, just when I came out of the building, I saw a cisco guard about to enter my car licence into his handheld. I shouted at him that I am coming, but he ignored and continue to do his stuff. Guess what, I went up to him and started to explain why I had to park there, he didn't even looked at me, just continue punching in. KNNBCCB, what kinda of attitude is that!?
My Jap client was as bewildered as me. He asked me whether this behaviour of traffic wardens is common. There was another RX300 in front of me, that poor lady was actually helping her old mom push the Cold Storage trolley out to the car, she too was explaining to the other traffic warden, and got the same expressionless response.
All in all, the time taken by me from coming out of my car and coming back was barely 5 mins!! I think these wardens are way too overzealous, especially when we had practically no choice but to park our cars there for a while!
Read my post again... I didn't say he was wrong to give me a ticket. I am referring more to his attitude. Why is there a need to totally ignore a person when he is talking to you? That is so rude, and in fact in actually makes a person more angry...Originally posted by hisoka:while it would be nice for the person to give you a chance, its not wrong for him to penalise you, the rule was that no stoping at all if i am not wrong, and there is a reason for it imagine every minute theres one person who stops for 5 mins to help a client in a very narrow road( i assume that thats the reason for the lines).

I agree with this point.Originally posted by 105090:nowadays, all the blood suckers are very desperate for $$. heard they have a commission earned per summon, and (maybe) need a daily minimum of summon issued etc.
once i see a police van, with the back door open, to film ppl speeding. (those speed traps) they parked the dumb van in a small lot, but half the vehicle is onto the left lane, and the place it parked is like a blind corner.. call this road safety?
Valid point. I find myself peering upwards at overhead bridges or rest points under viaducts to check out for 'hidden' TP speed traps.Originally posted by 105090:and talking bout driving, motorists, instead of concentrating on road conditions and pedestrians, have to look out on road kerbs for TP who is so eager to try out his new speed camera, or parking on the roadside.![]()
To be fair to the traffic police, they have (in most places) determined whether a double-yellow, zig-zag or double zig-zag is prudent on the road.Originally posted by tarutaru:Another thing worth mentioning is I think certain place in town should allowed people to park for free instead of Zig zag line....
Bo pian, they earn by commission...Originally posted by HarryPussy:Nowadays SOOOO MANY FUCKING TRAFFIC WARDENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW COME!!!!!!????????????????????
I NEVER BUY COUPONS FOR MY 360. SO JUST ANYHOW PARK ON THE ROAD SIDE.ONE DAY KENA 3 $70 dollars ticket...wahahahaha...![]()
