For years, citizens have been giving feedbacks to the government ministers, MPs, and all feedback agencies on the following:-
(1) High costs of living and doing business in Singapore (ministers denied or keeping quiet about such problems like in the NKF way)
(2) A system of charging citizens for government services at market prices and using every opportunity to recover costs.
(3) Privatization of traditional government services to stinge on government spending and create surpluses.
(4) Competing against citizens for a living even as the SMEs are reeling from high costs and bankruptcies.
(5) While citizens might have supported government's non-welfare policy that does not give the licence to keeping charging market prices for services against the citizens allowing SPs, Mediacorp, URA, HDBs, State Land Office, LTA, JTC or Public Transport companies to make obsene profits.
Please re-think all the non-welfare policies of the past again. Wake up and stop making so much monies by using privatisation to stinge on costs while getting all the privatised GLCs to use legal and administrative powers and monopolies to cream off monies from the poor and middle-income citizens.
It is no use making all the surpluses if these surpluses cannot result in a vibrant economy to benefit all.
Note: Does the government want to go through another NKF before doing something to meet people's expectations?
Our government is too money face~! They will do means and ways to squeeze us dry and left with just enough or always not enough for expenses.
