Whistle-blowing in Singapore - Will you do it ??

  Hi,
  
  With recent cases of mismanagement - NKF and SATA, there is an increase in interest by the public. Some companies have also recognised the importance and start to introduce the whistle -blowing policies in Keppel and OCBC to encourage thier staffs to be more forthcoming.
  
  But are we ready to Whistle- blow, especially a conservative Singapore??

  There are already a lot of whistle blowers in companies that uses pirated softwares.... just offer reward and you will get them to blow the whistle.

  When whistle is blown at the wrong parties there will be consequences like defamation law suits.
  
  The CAD or CPIB are not appointed or supervised by independent panel so how can anyone expect them to investigate any cases which affect higher authority without prior clearance.
  
  If anyone wants to blow his whistles, he will have to direct at lower officers or minor offenders.

  Money seems to be a big incentive for whistle-blowers nowadays. A big fat fee for ratting out on your employer.
  
  Hence, all you need is to dangle a huge carrot, get someone with authentic proof to bite and you score.

  I did, & i paid dearly for it as my identity was revealed to the very people whom I was complaining. They were holding high posts & protected.

  Thats why must conduct surveillance and intelligence gathering before u blow whistle. The more backing and protection they have, the bigger the whistle u need. Blow until New Paper know, thats it liao...

  IF Singapore were to leaglised whistle-blowing act and requires the company to implement whistle-blowing policies within the organisation, will you agree that whistle-blowers will be more protected and hence increase the numbers of whistle-blowers?
  
  Will there be any other implications towards the company?

  U'll never be adequately protected one. So make sure the whistle u blow, is one time chia lat chia lat one. Make sure it takes everyone out.
