No human rights- Poor smokers

Smokers will be more and more disappointed with the unjust action by G**t...It is true that G**t doing this for the help and sake of a good health for everybody...And maybe their first action to help pple save money and in return reduced their cigarettes income...However, there should be human rights like in other countries...Banning smoking in Pubs and bars is really outrageous...No reason for that at all...Those pple going pubs, discos etc will jolly well know that such places bound to be smoky as people smoke inside...But now when you just want to enjoy , drink and smoke in such places over the weekends or after a hard day work also cannot...Aiyoh...Pity the smokers..

I am a smoker of 30 years. And I hope, our government will ban it completely.
This is my best way out of this habit/addiction.
Nicotine, is a drug. And I'm stuck.
Ban it! I'd support the government if they do this sensible thing. -

Our whole society has been brainwashed into steotyping certain behavior and conduct as inherently bad to be exterminated with the full force of public condemnation.
Once started there will be no end to the same steotyped campaign which will last for more years.
Littering has been the subject of public condemnation with the fullest participation by the media. MPs will follow suit with a lot of talks as if they do not know of other preoocupations like lowering cost of living or creating jobs.
These kinds of social engineering projects take away people's attention to real issues. Despite many years of campaigns, MPs have failed to prevent littering and cluttering up of the HDB estates which 20 years later after all the campaigns have become worse.
After some world's class public toilet campaigns, what do we see of the public toilets.
After many years of anti-mosquito campaigns, we now suddently have dengue epidemic to the surprise of many citizens. It seems like the outbreak is one of the worse.
So regularly campaign will continue to be conducted by MPs and grasswroots who got nothing to do except the condemn certain acts.
Smoking is one such steotyped public condemnation. Too bad if one is a smoker. One year after another tobacco tax will continue to be increased.
If only MPs and ministers can spend half the campaign time on real issues like the lowering the costs of doing business and increasing the chances of survival of our domestic economic sector, by now we would have more jobs and less unemployments. -

I support the crackdown on smoking in clubs. Hope the authorities in Western Australia would learn a thing or two from us. Right where I am now, I dread going to clubs because it makes my clothes stink of cigarette smoke. Because of that, at most, I only go clubbing 4 times a year.

i dont believe singapore will ban cigarettes. when they do the tax from cigarettes will have to come from somewhere else. and thats a big one!!!
tourism will be affected too. i wonder if the govt will tell the smoking tourist not to come. -

It is true that we also have to care about people who dnt smoke...But going to the extent of pubs and nightspots is really too much...If you want to go to such places, you should be well aware that such places will be smoky...If you dnt like or cant even stand it just dnt go...Or go to places that are for non smoker...Perhaps the right thing for to do is to let the owner decide their own smoking and non smoking areas...Of course the govt idea work perfectly well with non smokers...But do they actually care abt the smokers...Why other countries arent doing so...Because there is human rights..which we dnt have it here...

You are correct that we can't possibly tell the smoking tourists not to come here. But I don't support total ban. I will prefer banning in public places like bus stops and bus interchanges, but not pubs and discos. If those people who doesn't like the smoking in pubs and discos, then don't go.
