It doesn't matter. Both are just as disgusting.Originally posted by shade343:Racism and homosexuality are 2 different issues.
Hey come on... quote me any country in the world that had got racism completely wiped out. Skin differences can never be entirely resolved because an apple can never be an orange and vice versa.Originally posted by Sardaukar:What are the topics we can discuss that will not be considered as sedition?Does mentioning certain perceived grievances regarding certain ethnic groups or the story that a quota is supposedly placed upon the number of Indians in the law faculty of a local university enough to get charged for sedition?
No matter what they do,there will always be racism, just unexpressed. How many times have I seen or heard of the Chinese here in Singapore discriminating against other communities? You never hear of other communities discriminating against other communities, that is true enough.
You almost got the definition of sedition correct except for mis-typing the key word "encourage". According to Oxford concise dictionary, Sedition: Conduct or speech inciting rebellion against the authority of the state.Originally posted by The Emperor:According to the dictionary, sedition is an act of formal speech or action that encourages people to go against the government. Don't believe, check it for urself.
In this case, racism is going against government? speaking against teachers is going against the government also? So... everything u say that's negative and offending is going against the government? Make no sense manz!!! The law must improve itself! I pity all the lawyers here, including the judge...

If social riot breaks out and disrupt or destroy countless citizens lives then you will understand why racism is going against the government.

Then what about speaking against the teachers? Does this incite rebellion against the authority of the states or the classroom?![]()
I believed you are refering to the student blog on teachers. Personally, I viewed blogging as a very own private entertainment too but not when its comments are over the board. One may argue that there is just a thin line between what you can blog and can't blog. So in all, it is up to how the authority view it to be. Hence, in this case, the student only received a fair share of disciplinary action but not hailed to court.Originally posted by The Emperor:Then what about speaking against the teachers? I just dun get it... why sedition as the chosen general term for everything? Dun they have other words to substitute it? Or are lawyers lacking in vocabulary? hehe... ah.. something amuzing to think about.Originally posted by TooFree:I believed you are refering to the student blog on teachers. A lot of people often "Kxx Pxx" about privacy, human rights etc. (me inclusive) but sometimes, we have got to know that the law and rights are on both ends of the balance scale, whenever one side is tilted, the other must be reinforce.

I am also curious about the person behind the comic. I wonder if it counts as seditious or geppist.

You probably never heard of them discriminating against Chinese because you don't even know what they were saying.Originally posted by Sardaukar:What are the topics we can discuss that will not be considered as sedition?Does mentioning certain perceived grievances regarding certain ethnic groups or the story that a quota is supposedly placed upon the number of Indians in the law faculty of a local university enough to get charged for sedition?

I'm still curious about the origin of the comic though. Anybody knows? I've gotten over the initial offence at its content so it's safe to tell me now.![]()
