Dengue Epidemic: Gutters at Fault!

The fight dengue ministerial committee recomends removal of gutters in govt structures and bannig gutters for future constuction projects.It seems the committee thinks gutters are redundant and can do without them.Doesn't the committee take a drastic measure?
Gutters are use all over the world.Do they have problems too?Has the committee look into why gutters get choked in the first place?
I say don't blame gutters,blame ppl who use them.Doesn't the govt always tell the ppl to take responsiblities for themselves.Govt,don't take the easy wasy out pls! -
Govt,take the drastic step of stopping all foggings,which experts say are not effective, and employing more temporary staff to check mosquitoe breeding everyday.

Are the design of gutters wrong?Or there are too many leaves dropping inside?Can leaves clog up the gutters?Do gutters need maintenance?

I think the ministers concerned should seek expert opinions about gutter.

and then start another committee to analyse it
another committee to discuss it
another to evaluate it
and another to run the project
so it all costs $ -

Mosquitoes that commonly breed in drains are the culex mosquitoes which will not transmit dengue. So no need to ban covered drains lah... cannot suka suka anyhow ban you know hahahaOriginally posted by PRP:Covered drains,if not properly maintained ......

They say Aedes mosquitoes very smart liao,dirty water they also can survive.Who know they might breed in drains too?

Govt, take the bold step of stopping foggings & put ovatraps all over the country (with protection from stealing)instead.

Thats why gahmen very smart. Taichi the problem to each household when all the buidlings they built are prone to mosquito breeding.

Especially prolonged rain days; water gets stagnant and creates chances for mosquitoes breeding and developing into adult mosq. in just 6 to 7 days of
prolonged raining.
I was one of the dengue victims awarded in Changi Hospital last year.
Don't just wayang showing their ass around. -
It's the friggin' lack of experience & ingenuity, that's what I'd say!
It always takes s.h.i.t to hit the fan, for them to get off of their cushy chairs. -
What i know is that the Dengue Mosquitos ahave evolved. Able to survive 6 months in incubation without dying. I dun know about u guys but..even if gutter flows properly..if these things can survive 6 months.. man.. u guys gonna need FLUSHING GUTTER system..! Maybe a new way to manage these pests are required in terms of more potent Mosq killers or proper sterilzation of rubbish , gutters n public awareness .

First of all,gutters shouldn't be choked.If they are choked,find out what are the causes. -
The number of dengue cases has been reduced much since the formation of the ministeral committee.I believe it was because more checks for mosquitoe breeding were done.So i think foggings don't matter.

dengue has been ard for many yrs...
only recently that it had shot up trememndously...
we shld educate ppl more -
yess blame the ppl who choke up the gutter, then complain of the gutter problem later on, they always blame others not themselves
