I know someone who joined the Young PAP for a few years to go for his dream: to become an MP. But I think it's not so simple as his highest educational level is a diploma and he is not a scholar nor did he know any influential people or hold a high post in the Civil Service or respectable private sector. Do you think he has a chance?
Yes, it is possible. Just some proven track records of having done some good may not be good enough. Minimum prerequisite for non grad will probably have to be someone with celebrity status.
Sim Wong Hoo, Ron Sim or Taufik etc might be welcome but not those who are just capable with a lot of potential to be future savior of Singapore but with no fame.
