Blood suckers.They got excess flats and not willing to sell them cheap to those who can't afford. Instead they want to put on resale market to get more profit. Worse, they build more new flats and sell around resale price.

Now that you can borrow from the banks to finance your housing loans, it is not HDB who are making the billions. I truely repect HDB leaders for making standard square flats that are of very comfortable size that is VERY easy to clean. Also you get the benefit of staying so close with so many fellow singaporeans. Plus, you get to hear free orchestra drilling music every now and then! Not to forget, the HDB volunteer to retrieve your flat after 99 years to rebuild them!
What considerate leaders we have at the HDB!

heard that the price has dropped by about 50k.

I can suggest a new solution to the problem of housing glut in northern singapore - re-locate many of those empty office Tanjong Pagar builings and some Raffles places building over to Sembawang area. URA should do something like that. create a new northen CBD hub that will also have another world-class iconic esplanade durian there and uproot Paragon Shopping centre and Ngee Ann City shift over there too. Re-plan and replant the trees and do something to make Sembawang look like Nassim Hill Road. -
This is my view on Sembawang, everything looks flat, grassy no heavy foliage and gardenscapes, look like a backwater town. very spartan. Look cheap and look like shit. who wanna live there? I look everywhere is HDB and very repetitive... no mix of offices, shopping centres, landed property, nice looking condos. Same with Jurong West, same with Pungol and Yishun. URA should do some major rezoning and SLA lower the freaking high land price over there and let some roller coasters come in along with water parks, tourist attractions and so forth. If they could do it with the CBD Orchard area, I don't see why not the Northern Area. It takes a skilled planner to do such miracles. Hotels should be all over singapore. Maybe even a special underground resort or something. ANYTHING. The way its planned now is typical SimCity style of economics, put housing HDB and then put MRT smack bang in the middle to collect the most no. of passengers and get lots of cash because the inhabitants are forced to take the train.

I wouldn't buy these outdated and worthless flats. Some were built 6 years ago and defects are sure to pop up. I remember the minister said months ago that only new flats to be built will have 10 years of defect warranty but not for older constructed flats (1 yr only).
Cheap also no use. It'll just give lots of headaches when more and more start to pichar year after year. By the time you want to resell, nobody will buy from you.
Buy a stuck home, you get stuck.
