It looks like ego is the root of all evils. As long as the project is egoistic millions or billions from hardearned surpluses will be spent to give some grandiose like the 7 wonders and big sea platform.
Big projects, express-way electronic boards, super-delux wall tiles and grand arches at entrances of estates, luxurious bus stops and satellite taxis are all spent without batting an eyelid.
Yet, when it comes to lowering the medical costs and waiver of land costs or some seed monies to turn empty lands and factories to better returns there will be many objections or excuses like pollutions etc. Only Small monies need to be spent to correct the sorry domestic sector of the economy, but nothing can be done as there will be endless debates on welfarism.
NKF will get all the go-ahead to splash on unnecessary luxurious building and golden tap spending but little help that people need to lower the patient treatment costs.
What an egoistic system - witholding actions and spending to create jobs and remake the economy only to be splashed on unproductive wastages and grandiose, durians and durains. -
In the first place, how the heck are they going to build that platform?!?!?
I wonder how it's going to stand up to the motion of a few thousand soldiers marching in and doing 'hentak kaki'. This is no joke... the resonance frequency of a contingent of marching soldiers have been known to destroy bridges. At the very least, it's going to be one really wobbly parade.
And don't tell me that it'll be silent drills all the way either.
Maybe some engineer here would like to toss in his S$0.02 on this? -

wobbly wise i tend to agree i cant imagine if the platform was moving up and down and the soldiers had to stand there stil or do drills not to mention the other segments by soka or whatever. -
