did the president just get lamer?

  saw chee soon juan at mrt station paddling his newsletter, paid $2 for it to read on the mrt. have mica permit so i presume content must be true. in it one column mentioned govt passed bill to enable the transfer of reserves to glcs without president's approval or informing the public... didn't we snigger at malaysia's umno for using taxpayers' money to save struggling 'pet' companies....is this really true? local media did not report on this, then again should we be surprised?

  What to do, I thought it has always been like that. We, the common people, are the ones in charge of wiping the arses of the GLCs or any other government agencies after they have screwed up everything.

  Please, I wouldn't want our dear S$2 million salary president to be talking to homeless people. Anyway, in the morning when he goes jogging, most prob the homeless people will be out working or looking for jobs.
  
  But lucky for singapore, the people president sees and talks to during his daily jogs would be other good-status people who don't seem to need to work on weekdays.

  Wrong answer. Singaporeans are taught to be self reliant and not welfare minded. The number of homeless people is very low. Those who are found homeless and housed at govt runned shelters.
  My western frens are surpised that they cannot find homless people here.

  Local media is controlled by government, so cannot report. No suprise. As for Chee's newsletter, I think the MICA permit is fake. Got such content inside, MICA sure ban it. Suprised that MICA didn't ban it.

  yes there was a Constituitional amendment.As usual, the Bill was passed.
  
  It happened in mid-January.Shame that so many Singaporeans never cared.

  Go read up on the Constitutional Amendments for the year of 2005 in the Attorney-General's Chambers website.It's ignorant fools who care not to read and educate themselves that we find ourselves stuck on 2nd gear right now.

  the constitution is very circular in its language. lots of spin there, essentially i think it is saying whatever can be transferred is no longer termed as reserves therefore no need to inform president, right???
  
  as for saying the mica permit is fake, come on, do you think they are stupid enough to risk that. mica can only disallow what is not true. sdp newsletter hammered in on the $4k a day minister's pay over and over again. what can mica do as these are facts?

  The permit can never be faked.It is a registered political party after all.
