That is good as saying you are gay, not a Bonnie Wright lover. I can understand.Originally posted by iveco:Look here, 38Z is implying that certain Buddhists mix religion and politics. As far as I know, Buddhists are more liberal-minded than most Christians. I remember Earthlings once said that Dalai Lama recognises the status of LGBTs in society (or something to that effect).

I would not dispute that he is the spiritual head of Tibet but a political head? Even in most developed countries the spiritual head and the political head are not the same and one.Originally posted by laurence82:It doesnt work this way. Since age immemorial, a Dalai Lama is the head of Tibet, as well as its spiritual leader. Been their culture like that for ages.
You cant just impose the modern concept of separation of church and state onto Tibet. Naturally, as a Tibetan, he would be concerned that his people would be free. We all know how barbaric and idiotic the Commies can be.
Nowhere didn't say he advocating violence and intolerance.Originally posted by laurence82:Secondly, is there anywhere it suggest he is advocating violence ad intolerance?
I would not dispute that he is the spiritual head of Tibet but a political head? Even in most developed countries the spiritual head and the political head are not the same and one.Thats what i been saying, its not fair to impose the concept of separation of the church and state on the culture of Tibet. Therefore, its ok for them to have him as a spiritual as well as a poltical leader.
It isn't right to comparing the Church with Dalai Lama. In the Dalai Lama case, he advocates a struggle to free his people. The Church doesn't.
My point is, he is mixing politic with religion. And how is doing it? By courting those countries that are not on so friendly term with China or that have ulterior motives on China and synergy with them. This can be a dangerous cocktail if it is not handled properly. From a religious point, I have no comment. But from a political point, he seems shrewd bordering cunningness. Imagine a shrewd or cunning 'Pop' or 'Imam' or whatwever, you got my point? Instead of furthering his cause this way, it seems from all these past years that it has actually weaken it.
but its not a reason that wld make him stop..Originally posted by pat33:But years of persisting in his methods that can't bearing fruit?

I am more worried about Al-Qaeda interfering with Uighur affairs than anything else. Already, they have sent agents into Russia's troubled Chechnya region to cause trouble.Originally posted by laurence82:Seriously, i pray for the day regions like Xinjiang and Tibet be free, and the commies punished heavily for their atrocities and stupidity..
