Singapore - Is it a Malay Land?

I recently have these comments made by a group of people. They were stating that Singapore is a malay land, and the chinese came and 'politely' took over the land. And malays, being the kind of people they are, which is hospitable, they allowed the chinese, the indians to come over, and in fact, they made frens out of these foreigners.
some chinese and indians believe that malays are lazy, or watever, but the fact is, to them, this land, belongs to the Malays.
whether, the chinese or the indians want to justify that, this land was developed, and the fact that Singapore is as successful as it is today kudos to the hardworking chinese and indians, the fact remains that, the land belongs to the Malay. The chinese took over the land that was never their.
furthermore, this absurdness in a country run by chinese, mostly populated by chinese, can be evident from Amercans believing the Singapore is situated near China. Duh... it is the Malay Peninsula for Pete's sake.
anyway, i am not a malay, nor a chinese, nor an indian, nor a eurasion, i am a mixed blood singaporean (chinese, malay and indian), but the point i want to make is, why is it, that the minorities, esp. the malays feel as if this land is chinese land?
chinese signs everywhere, chinese this and chinese that. So was just wondering, why no one ever brought it up? it is politically unsound to bring such an issue up, and yah, wait a minute, the parliament is so "chinese" that i don't think they would bring this up, for all u know the ISA (LKY's original creation) would be used against the one who brought this up, like they say, the truth hurts, but well, i need to know the truth, speak up... anyone? -
The original occupants were called peranakans, I think. Not very sure abt them though. Malays I not sure also.
But I agree that a lot of Chinese pple nowadays here in Singapore. Not becuz they took over the land, it is becuz the British wanted to developed Singapore, and the fastest way to increase working population is thru immigration for a newly developed small country. China at that time was undergoing some war if I remembered the history textbook correctly, and some unrest. This serves as a push factor, and coupled along wif the pull factor from Singapore, the Chinese came in large groups to Singapore. Whereas for India, they not so much unrest, and it is already a British colony, and British need them to develop their colony. (juz tot of this only) So less Indians came?
And LKY was afraid of a uprising due to racial riots, and maybe due to the fact that a lot of Chinese here on this originally 'Malay' land. He set the national language as Malay, and national anthem in Malay also...

the early dwellers of the land now known as singapore, are actually the malay fishermen, or boat people. this was even before raffles founded singapore, and brought his colonial tactics into the land. before singapore was known as singapore, it was known as singapura, and before that, it was known as temasek. very malay names if u asked me...
anyway, i thot the british pulled out after WWII, then how come still it is becos of them, that Singapore becomes so cheena?
i think, the actual reason for this is that, LKY took over singapore, and being a chinese himself, he developed singapore, by making malays feeling that they were the owner of this land, but behind their backs, or unknowingly, he populated this land with chinese immigrants. And then, he use the racial harmony idealism to make other minorities feel that this move is ok. by right it is certainly not ok. The truth is this land belongs to the malays, and malays being the patient people they are allowed foreigners to come in and call this place home. But, at first glance, ppl thot, singapore is a chinese country. well, it's not, at least in history. Hmmm.... why didn't the malays make noise... guess, it's their nature to just live harmoniously. but the chinese being the majority, they act as if sometimes they owe this land. by right not really, they are just immigrants. the only true home for the chinese, is China. but well, what the hack, it is already in our system (after being brain washed) that Singapore is our home. yah rite... -
I think the IMPORTANT now is NOT to dig out the HISTORY and lead to a POSSIBLE RACIST RIOT... But more into what should be done to the FUTURE SINGAPORE and for ALL CITIZENs of Singapore... NO MATTER how people else where like to percept or view this land (meaning Chinese's the BOSS, or Malay's the ORIGINAL and RIGHTFUL owner...), it doesn't really matter... History cannot be used as a basis to lay claim over an entity or over ownership of a property....without legal backing.
For example.... If history can be used to claim ownership over a property without legal backing... then i can, by historical record of ownership of all my previous properties... such as cars, flats and condos....,things which i own in the past, NOW seek ownership over those same properties on historical basis and kick the present owners out. wont that be wrong???
Secondly... Singapore was in fact granted independence from malaysia, a malay nation with a malay head and with a malay..... blah blah blah.... thus legally, singapore is now owned by singaporeans.
So... from a historical point of view, singapore was formally occupied and ruled by malays...
However, the same historical records shows the change in ownership over time in proper legal procedure. BUT make no mistake here.... Singapore now belongs to singaporeans on legal documents, signed and recognised around the world.... The historical part merely acts as witness to that change, but does not in any way partake in that change.
Another problem with the use of historical records for basis of claim is .... TIME.
for example..... 10 years ago... singapore is owned by singaporeans.... that make singaporeans owner of present day singapore..
50 years ago... singapore is owned by the british as a colony... so that would make the brits the owner of present day singapore.
200 years ago... singapore is owned by a group of malay fisherman... so that would make the malays the owner of present day singapore.
32000 years ago.... singapore is owned by chinese from southern china... so that would make the chinese the owner of present day singapore...
1,000,000 years ago... singapore was owned by the orang utan... so that would make the orang utan the owner of present day singapore....

it's true that, history to u means nothing. And it serves as lesson to us. And yes, the lesson is for the malays to learn that, in the past, Singapore belonged to them, but because they were 'taken advantaged of', now the land seems to be a land of the chinese, everything chinese. I think it is unfair to call Malay land or Chinese land. Genetically there is one human race. Scienctist believe all humans come from 7 women in Africa, should we call singapore..... Africa Land then?

Singapore was once described as "the 7-11 among provision shops" by a writer I happen to have forgotten his name. heehee. Anyway, he remarked that Singapore's success is due mainly to the fact that its neighbours prefer an easier lifestyle. Coupled with good locality and infrastructure left by the Britons, Singaporeans managed to enjoy decades of prosperity.
Malayland or not, when the neighbours awake (think China, Malaysia, Vietnam), Singapore loses its relevance.
History ought to be left in the museums. Singaporeans must now focus on knowledge acquisition. Gartner a set of skills and contacts relevant to the global demands. When time comes there's always a better place to move to.

Initially, u started this topic with the desire of getting some "answers". U should be glad that several people has taken the effort to reply & get themself involve in the discussion; but however, u are acting very negatively with the replies.
In an earlier post, u said something like "looking for some intellectual people to discuss a topic". Actually there are indeed quite some intellectual people in this forum, & they have been trying to explain by using some examples...& it was u who don't get what the others are trying to say ...in the end,u started to get impatient & shouted back at everyone. So if u feel that all these are too much for u, pls leave this forum & don't anyhow start a topic in the future.

Well, it seems like u got some attitude problem (with some degree of anti-nation & anti-social mentality). Don't say that i'm trying to teach u or what, but it's time for u to take a look at your own immature behaviour in the postings. Of course no one will stop u from further postings, but u just make yourself looking funny.
In conclusion, perhaps ur behaviour can be describe as:
"an immature kid who suddenly get into a room (full of people) & started to shout for answers to a particular question. And the people there responded by explaining to him about what is more appropriate. Examples was also given by them to aid their explanation. BUT the kid was unsatisfied with the answers & shouted at those in the room. After a while, he got more frustrated & shout things like "oh, i going to quit, I'm had enough, Ya, u are right, I'm not going into this anymore". I love Singapore as a multi racial country. And I'm happy it can survive harmoniously with the different races. I don't think the chinese here thinks that they own Singapore, Singapore is our home, there's a place for all Singaporeans. We do not have first class or second class citizens... we are all Singaporeans.
