people power = pap using its power to royally screw the people.
they understand only before and during the elections. after that auto-erase.Originally posted by robertteh:This time they say the have found and will field many good promising young MPs with a lot of good credentials.
I remember they said they have fielded many supposedly very good MPs before in the election but have these so-called promising young MPs represented people's concern and problems e.g. high cost of living, inability to find jobs for many graduates and retrenched workers, losses of CPF retirenments fund due to asset debacle, increasing bus fares and utilities even though Bus companies are making good profits and control of citzens' views and expressions etc.
If we keep hearing we have a good crop of new and promising candidates in elections but still having to face all the persistent major problems, then do we still believe the next batch of good candidates will be young promising talents?
If we see any change it will be good to reduce the ministers' and MPs' salaries by 1/3 until Singaporeans' unemployment problem is solved and collapsed property asset reinstated to near previous level.
The problem is Singaporeans shy away when they see a Minister's GRC being contested.Bluntly put, they have accorded them too much respect than any ordinary legislator.Regardless of position in Cabinet, a MP's rating should be based on how much he has done for his community.Originally posted by iveco:I have been thinking over this for some time. While I do not begrudge Teo Chee Hean and George Yeo for landing the Defence and FOreign Affairs portfolios respectively, I sometimes wonder if it is a ploy to stop them from getting contested in their respective GRCs. Their wards contain remnants of former hot spots like Eunos and Cheng San GRCs.
The re-formatting is painful but neccessary. But why not switch to Mac?Originally posted by ShutterBug:Looks like Windows operating system; needs to re-formatted, and re-installed, then run Windows updates.
Then everything will run smoothly again...
How I wish it's as simple as that....
