Guess Singapore is in a sorry state; get slap on the face by an island (taiwan) who is not even a country and then get whack by his big brother(china) that we must bare all consequences (show of force).
Next come the issue from malaysia that "now singapore even dare to threaten us"????###

Come to think of it, it is really a miracle that our little red dot survive for 40 years and counting. -
we have no say. that's why the SAF is important because no matter how peaceful or how properous our country is, the bigger powers will always push it around. it reminds those who want to push us around to be mindful but of course, SAF has its limitations such as manpower and lower budget compared to bigger countries because of our smaller GDP. Therefore, it is inevitable that we'll be pushed around

If not for our siding with Bush over the terrorism issue, we are already sidelined by US with more countries now bullying us non-stop.
We are very vulnerable so we need to treat our citizens well and not push them to the brink so that we all will be more united and be a stronger country. -
I don't think we are forced to the brink? Life is peaceful and great here. You work hard, you will do well. so simple.
