Can you speak Malay, YOUR own National Language?

  it is useful especially cause it is used by millions living around us. knowing the language will enable better understanding of the race, their religion, and make it easy for them to know about us. Language is good in cultivating greater racial harmony.
  
  I tried to learn but no chance to practise so all give back to teacher liao. I would prefer my children to learn one extra language at the expense of some other academic achievement.

  All our neighbours beside are using Malay. It is easier to communicate to them in Malay as far as possible

  I find the cantonese still speaking their dialects. They are proud of their dialects because of the HK influence.
  
  But it is true that the rest of the dialects have been wiped out now.

  because of the stupid and meaningless 'speak mandarin' champaign. no dialect programs on tv too.
