Yes!
Is drug-trafficking an extraordinary crime?
Yes!!
Don't get confused with human-rights issues, life being taken away, killing a man, and etc like that. Because here is a man who committed an extraordinary crime. His crime must be met with a response. A response for him and for other would-be perpetrators of this hineous extraordinary crime.
Singapore will become like Australia where youth smoke dope IF Singapore starts to apply lax law like Australia.

Don't get your views distorted.....Singapore is not like it is today without its strong laws. Laws to protect and safeguard. The lifes of thousands more Nguyens in Singapore. Thousands of youths who would be drug addicts because of 1 Nguyen.
The human rights of the greater public must be above the human rights of an individual criminal.
My friends, let me put in front of you an irony.
if you remember, Mr. John Howard himself, when recently tried to pass the new Anti-terror law in Aussie, had responded to critisism about human rights violations of that law, by saying, yes....the rights of the greater public must be placed above the rights of the individual. And he, and his parliament in that nation, has passed the law. They recognize tough law is needed. Especially to respond to extraordinary crimes like terrorism. Even though it may violate individual's human rights.
The Australian nation can see it very clearly.
Yet on this instance, they choose not to apply the same principle. They place an individual's rights above the greater public's rights. That of a Mr.Nguyen.
They want a family-mitigating factor to be considered. They want the law to be applied selectively.
For one of their citizens, a single Mr.Nguyen, they are willing to put thousands of Singaporeans at risk as a result of wrong signals and weak safeguards.
My friends, Australians fear terrorism. However, their attitude towards drugs is lax. They will keep terrorism out but keep drugs in as a result.
Singapore is different.
This is a neccessary tough law. Don't blink or you lose to the criminals. -
