It will take many years for Singapore to produce candid, forthright and proactive leaders lead the country. Right now it seems that our leaders are only money-worshipping or caring only for their own career path and do not understand the people's needs and aspirations and not prepared to work for the benefits of the common people.
Salman,Originally posted by Salman:The problem with Robert is, he has never met a schorlar MP and talked to them and he doesn't know the poor in singapore nor how Singapore works.
MPs are not chosen based on academics. They were chosen based on track record and the ability to relate to the people.
I suggest he joins PAP for at least a year and understand how the party works.
If so easy to join, many people are politicians now.Originally posted by Salman:The problem with Robert is, he has never met a schorlar MP and talked to them and he doesn't know the poor in singapore nor how Singapore works.

Thats your private definition mister, not the PAP definition. too bad you failed.Originally posted by pikamaster:Salman,
"ability to relate to the people" in political terms means PR management; it does not mean empathy with the people or striving to understand the people's needs. PR is the art of making lies sound truthful.
"track record" is a very poor admission criteria. A person can be a manager with good PR skills and very limited knowledge and understanding and poor character.

Exactly, its not easy to be a politician. Robert Teh thinks its only the academics that counts. How wrong is he.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:If so easy to join, many people are politicians now.
Hmm, so far those who are in the PAP are scholars. Haven't seen anyone that is a sport professional or some average people out there.Originally posted by Salman:Exactly, its not easy to be a politician. Robert Teh thinks its only the academics that counts. How wrong is he.
You want to join PAP? You can, but you better be on the ball or they will kick you out after 1 year.
Assumption that people have to join PAP to participate and contribute to Singapore is such a deep fallacy even frogs can't see the sun from where they are.Originally posted by Salman:Exactly, its not easy to be a politician. Robert Teh thinks its only the academics that counts. How wrong is he.

oh? Then kindly tell me what the PAP definition is - the real definition, not the one laced with their propaganda. I came up with the definition I gave you from what I read in the newspapers and in the forums, as well as what I gleaned from the Party's websites. Mine is an informed opinion, not a run-of-the-mill rumour.Originally posted by Salman:Thats your private definition mister, not the PAP definition. too bad you failed.
By the way, not interested in joining the PAP. Politics is not a fun thing to play with. I would rather suffer than speak up.Originally posted by Salman:Exactly, its not easy to be a politician. Robert Teh thinks its only the academics that counts. How wrong is he.
