I think they need one very big disaster to happen on them before they believe. Those hurricanes that strike US haven't wake US yet. Maybe more states need to be strike to prove the point. The same few states that always get strike doesn't prove anything. Just coincidence to them. -

Oh its cool. You gotta hear out the arguments of the other party. The opponents of the global warming theory says that the earth heating up and stuffs are a part in the many cycles of the planet's life and does not neccesarily correlate with human causes like the greenhouse emmisions. Something like those. The sun itself is getting hotter.

In Canada today, Kyoto Protocol signatories have agreed to extend the treaty on emissions reductions beyond its 2012 deadline. This is a small but significant step forward towards a global solution to this problem.
It is shameful that the US and Australia still refuse to ratify the Kyoto Protocol. These nations talk about human rights when it suit them...what about the rights of Bangladeshis who find their homes submerged by floods or the Inuits who find their hunting grounds drastically affected by melting ice?

MONTREAL - IN THE environmental equivalent of name and shame, countries making the silliest or most backward comments at climate-change talks in Montreal are being awarded toy dump trucks filled with coal.
In a gathering where solar, wind and geothermal power are being touted as ways of saving the planet from the effects of global warming, green groups are using the fossil-of-the-day award to take the sting out of talks that stubbornly refuse to make much progress.
'If someone says something pretty outrageous during the negotiations sessions, we give them a fossil,' said Mr John Lanchbery, of Birdlife International, after announcing the award, which occurs at 6pm each day at the Montreal convention centre to the cheers of the assembled environmental activists.
Between 200 and 300 members of environment and development groups hold a daily catch-up meeting and vote on which countries get the awards, Mr Lanchbery said as he stood in front of a poster showing Tyrannosaurus rex and the website www.fossil-of-the-day.org.
On Monday, the awards went to the European Union, Japan and Australia.
But since the talks began on Nov 28, the United States has won the most awards for its refusal to even talk about emissions targets or the shape of the Kyoto Protocol climate treaty when its first phase ends in 2012. -- REUTERS

7 states in US have signed the Kyoto-styled deal.

To reduce CO2 emissions, one solution is to plant more plants. However, new research has shown that it might backfire and worsen global warming.

there r certainly more den enuff signs to shw dat the earth's atmosphere is heatin up. inconsistent climate changes arnd the world n ice caps melting r gd enuff evidence to startin doing sumthing...
