ah but surely you can see that we do have an almost unspoken influence with certain parties, but we do not publicise it..Originally posted by dragg:we are not in the position to take sides. we are at the mercy of many parties.
for a small country without resources survival is the main thing.
My feeling often goes left and right, got pissed off with china when their nationalism went wild during LHL's visit to Taiwan, but stood firmly on their side, and that of the Koreans whenever the japs visit the shrines and denied WW2 atrocities. I felt china should restrained themselves when they faced off the Phil in Spretly but I feel they are entitled to voice out loud in protecting their tourists visiting Malaysia. Put it this way, I am never on the side of the Japanese, with whoever they are disputing.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:It is very hard to find balance even if you want to. Even if you take a neutral stand, there is still some parts of you that will swayed towards one side. You may not feel so, but it is true.
I always think that I am taking a neutral stand for this WWII thingy, but I still find myself getting angry when the newspapers report.
hehehe, won't engage in po4 fu4 ma4 jie1 with you.Originally posted by dragg:acknowledged what?
if you like to be self-righteous by all means carry on.
i actually agree.Originally posted by sgdiehard:hehehe, won't engage in po4 fu4 ma4 jie1 with you.
dragg, one small wrong doesn't cancel the other major wrong,Originally posted by dragg:never forget how china (the taiwan issue) and taiwan (the L-P issue) treated us. they boycotted our singers and insulted us as a country.
to think that they (china or taiwan) will accord us special treatment is wrong.
we have to depend on ourselves.
if you feel that the japanese are not wrong in doing what they're doing and as such stand on their side in this argument, then, you're not free of individual judgement and prejudices and when you're not completely neutral about the issue, you have no right to ask people to stop arguing about it. that would have been pretentious.Originally posted by dragg:that is exactly why i dont want people to argue over it.
if you dont have better things to say dont post anything. why do you have to ask me to shut up?
you go fark yourself!!
learn to know the difference. all i merely suggested was that they read the past postings instead of arguing it all over again. i did not ask anyone to shut up.Originally posted by snow leopard:if you feel that the japanese are not wrong in doing what they're doing and as such stand on their side in this argument, then, you're not free of individual judgement and prejudices and when you're not completely neutral about the issue, you have no right to ask people to stop arguing about it. that would have been pretentious.
i'm not asking you to shut up, i'm asking you to walk your talk, if you want people to shut up, you do it first.
Do you think u have the right to ask people to shut up and fark off??Originally posted by dragg:learn to know the difference. all i merely suggested was that they read the past postings instead of arguing it all over again. i did not ask anyone to shut up.

I feel you are only unable to handle your own thoughts,
not knowing what is right or wrong.
In the end, choose to forgive and forget.
And continue to adore the Japanese culture and products
and their 'superiority'.
This is common.
That is why the Japanese are mocking at useless chinese.
Talk only, no action.
In the end still need them and suck up to them.
Unlike Japanese, who can create and use their own creations,
and make others 'worship' their creations/culture.
If you look at Japanese political leaders,
(even some japanese if you had work with them)
this is the type of arrogance that is still exording.
Some may say its 2 different things,
but the truth is, the Japanese leaders are playing such games right now.
using its neighbours people's dependence on japan's economy/products
as a pressure to them,
and as a pride to itself not give-in to its neightbours expectation
of Japan on its WWII crimes.
Think about it. (especially those with dragg's kiddish mentality).
Are they really different issues???
Personally, I feel I just wanna give a tight slap to their PM face.
i quote your previous posting "why do you just go read all the postings in the past? dont have to start everything all over again."Originally posted by dragg:learn to know the difference. all i merely suggested was that they read the past postings instead of arguing it all over again. i did not ask anyone to shut up.

great minds think alike ... though my stance was given that we've become so robotically obedient to the commands of our leaders, i fear someday we might just end up like imperialist japan or germany ...Originally posted by sgdiehard:you are absolutely right, it is the fear within some of us, out of ignorance or did we do anything wrong?.![]()

Japan's embassy protests to Singapore daily over Yasukuni editorials
Saturday, November 26, 2005 at 04:00 JST
SINGAPORE — The Japanese Embassy in Singapore has sent a rare letter of protest to Singapore's main Chinese-language Lianhe Zaobao newspaper over two editorials criticizing Japan that were published in the wake of Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi's visit to Yasukuni Shrine last month.
The letter also defended Koizumi's trips to the shrine, saying they are not aimed at whitewashing Japan's militarism in the war. It claimed Koizumi believes the peace and prosperity that Japan enjoys today has been built upon the valuable sacrifices of those who perished in that war, and so it is important to show appreciation for their sacrifice.
