No sign younger people will be given chance to vote

No sign yet the younger electorate will be allowed to vote. People will simply be told some half truths like GRC will ensure stability or racial harmony. The plain truth is GRC will allow the incumbent to perpetuate one-party rule.
It will be the same for another 10-20 years - younger people will be told the half truth that GRC will ensure racial harmony when the bigger problem is created that only less capable people will be selected among a narrow network to run the whole place to suit the one party rule.
It is simply part of the autocracy that people must be dictated to accept half truth or selective news to perpetuate power. So many election walk-overs were already created that set the whole country back by decades. -
You probably have to take back what you say. The opposition parties are using another strategy to gather people's votes and I feel that they are getting stronger.
We may get to vote. Don't be too pessimistic. -
I think that they should lower the age limit to 18 years old instead of 21

GRCs should be done away with. Affirmative action is not the way when all along our society preaches meritocracy. I highly doubt that the minority races will be marginalised.
Plain and simple, GRCs allow the younger PAPpies to ride behind the coatails of the more established PAP stalwarts and gain access to Parliament. At present there are 14 GRCs. I foresee the number to grow -
OKay, I might be pessimistic. But figures are telling. 45% of voters did not vote at previous election due to GRC manipulated walkovers. Ironic when some of us 20-ish people got to vote in the British elections as citizens of the Commonwealth, and it was the first time they got to see a ballot paper.
I was talking to my cousin about the referendum they were having in Perth this year's CNY, and she asked me, SG doesn't bother to consult its citizens regarding such important issues?
I was struck dumb all of a sudden.
