Transparency and accountability needed in GIC and Temasek

  If people do not have their views candidly and objectively given in public forum etc, the same old problems with NKF will simply be mulled ovoer or explained away.
  
  It is so easy to use many methods to explain away problems like the NKF because there are so many ways to look at the whole episode as elaborated by me in earlier views.
  
  Creative accounting could easily mull over serious problems.
  
  Let us hope that after the people now give their candid and objective views and opinions the final outcome will be more transparency and accountability in the whole government including GIC and Temasek which have even greater potential for creative accounting.

  not many people know that the current chairman of GIC is Lee Kuan Yew, and the vice-chairman is Lee Hsien Loong.

  The country is now engulf in a wave of hysteria. The masses are asking for transparency and accountablity. Lets not stop at NKF. Let the movement spread. We need to know more about the ongoings in entities such as CPF Board, HDB, GIC and full disclosure of ministers pay.

  The First repent: Do not use surpluses or monies as goodies to buy votes. Be natural and let all Singaporeans not just those who vote for them benefit from their own surpluses or monies without all the CDC or RC gerrymandering to gain their votes.

  Khaw Boon Wan's criticisms of the way NKF has been run, particularly the lack of transparency, are well founded. Now if he will extend those criticisms to Temasek Holdings and GIC...

  We have to be realistic.
  
  The NKF scandal only broke out because one man's arrogance blinded his good judgement.
  
  Unless a similar incident occured within the confines of a govt board, else it will be difficult to demand greater transparency.
  
  One is a charitable organisation where the board are made trustees of public monies. The other is a govt run corporation using taxpayers' dollars.
