How Many Ministers have made promises they cannot keep?

Endless policies,
Endless speeches,
Endless inquiries,

After each fiasco,
After each collapse,
More promises,
Only they make no difference,
As all the NKFs will remain,
NTUC too has its own NKFs,,
Because leaders have long forgotten,
They must not make promises
Which they cannot keep. -

Yes, I have written to ST and Today and many of my letters have been published especially about high costs of living, practical efficiency and productivity and good corporate governance.
However, I do not like to write hypocritic letters. I do not like editing of my letters and have stopped writing for many months. -
You gotta cite some really concrete examples of promises made but not fulfilled in order to make your argument, whatever it is, more credible. Plain rhetoric is insufficient.

Some examples of promises made not kept:
(1) Bureaucracy in civil service.
(2) High costs of essential government services e.g. medical, utilities, housing, transportation, education, etc, etc
(3) Growth Triangles
(4) Affective divide due to lack of understanding of people's views and aspirations.
(5) Work site safety problems (Hotel New World Collapse's blue paper was not effectively implemented)
(6) Deliver a Swiss standard of living
(7) Asset enhancement scheme fiasco
(8 ) Unit trust investment fiasco
(9) Foreign relation fiascos
(10) Non-formulation of a value-adding investment strategy
(11) Double-charging on lands (paid by taxpayers yet charged back to them at full market prices) and triple charges on vehicles.
(12) Meritocratic education policy that backfired - brain drains of thousands
(13) Mother tongue - CL1 admission fiasco
(14) Reaching World Cup soccer league by 2010 - no sign of getting near.
(15) Investment losses by thousands of citizens from CPF funds.
(16) Spiraling of government ministers' and civil servants' salaries.
(17) Failure to implement accountability and transparency in respect of investments of citizens' monies in overseas investments.
(18 ) Loss of economic competitiveness due to high costs.
(19) Neglect in promoting entrepreneurship
(20) Neglect in nurturing the domestic sector of economy.

So what are the solutions to this problem? I suppose all the talka about leadership and talent are nowaday empty talks as it has again and again been found that leaders only talk and are more interested in getting highest pays without necessarily solving problems.
If that is the case, then, leaders should be replaced with people who have the passions and determination and not continue to talk about something no longer practicable.
Political one-man-one-vote process is the only way to identify and throw up such people with passion and abilities. Even though it is not perfect at least it is the surest way to deal with hypocrisy and sustain the country's ongoing economic and social competitiveness and vibrancy.
Other than the political one-man-one-vote system, I cannot think of a better way as none of the existing leaders seem able to serve the people with passions, determinations and results. -

housing though is more expensive than 20 yrs ago, they are made affordable for couples

guidelines laid down and construction site never implement them. and you want to blame the govt for that? might as well blame all the problems on the govt.

people are attracted by overseas opportunities and not because of the education.

the citizens are not prudent in their investment decisions. u are going to blame the govt again? then just go buy govt bonds.
