Trade union leader Ong Ah Heng is stepping down from the helm of the National Transport Workers' Union.
This was announced by SMRT Corporation's chief executive officer at a union function on Wednesday.
Ms Saw Phaik Hwa noted that Mr Ong, who has been the executive secretary since 1981, has always had the workers' interest at heart in the years he has served in the transport workers' union.
Mr Ong, who did not wish to be interviewed, will continue to be the union's consultant.
He continues to serve in the National Trades Union Congress and is the Member of Parliament for Nee Soon Central.

Why Mdm Saw speaking?
Even if she increases her drivers wages or train them with tech skills, it is still useless.. That tech skills is not useful to a bus captain...
