How was it handled?
We're constantly told we do not see the big picture, we do not understand the thought process and reasons for these... yada yada etc etc blah blah...

something like Animal Farm?? I just read this secondary school literature text(kept for >>10yrs) few months back and well, I feel like I'm the 'hard-working horse' working for the 'Greater Good' of the pigs. -

Is the government worth the millions spent on salaries and uncapped bonuses on their salaries of ministers?
Have they succeeded in providing leadership our leaders always told the world about or performed up to the expectations of the people?
Let us all assess their worth in these areas as follows:-
In my opinion leaders of today should solve diverse problems, set direction and unite people into taking collective actions to strive for maximum good of the maximum number.
To achieve the above-stated objectives, and be firmly supported by the people, leaders must possess the following qualities :-
(1) Passion,
(2) Ability to Motivate followers,
(3) Ability to get people to work with coordination and apply knowledge.
(4) Ability to translate complex goals and ideas into implementation processes to bring about competitiveness, technology start-ups and jobs etc.
(5) Invest monies and perform tasks with Accountability and Transparency
(6) Collective leadership by core team to make major decisions,
(7) Sense of integrity free from theoretical assumptions or controls that stifle mass participation in knowledge application.
A leader should first possess the passion and at the same time the patience and determination to govern or manage by motivating and persuading people to his beliefs or visions and not by enforcing his own unproven and unattainable conceptual stuffs which wasted everyone's time and resources and people's suffering and sacrifice for nothing.
He should serve his followers as humility of servant with reliability, or sense of justice, empathy to attain social and economic wellbeing of all.
He is expected to be honourable, possess integrity and not engage in all the moneyism or self-reward or self-promotion or be artful in arguments or fallacies or rhetorics or empty promises.
Beside understanding the needs and aspirations of people, leaders in the new age should have cultivated in-depth understanding of the intimate relationship between social, cultural and economic characteristics of the people so as the people could be made to nurture and unleash their skills and talents of the people through interactions to reach ultimeate vibrancy and excellence.
A leader should not just be pragmatic in wanting to build their own personal or elite efficiency but promote overall objectives and aspirations of his people and providing them with skills and knowledge application abilities through broad-based practical education.
Finally, leaders will not engage in justifications or excuses to get away from accountability or transparency of management but be fully accountable to the people for any major policy or performance mistakes.
A leader should be committed to implementation, performance and results and service to his people by translating all policies and beliefs and visions to workable and tangible work processes to enable all to participate in innovation and knowledge application and compete together as a team.
A leader should not just be seen just to be pragmatic in producing academic education or collect monies or accumulate surpluses or show only economic profits but accomplish all objectives and results with objectivity, collective leadership, accountability, transparency and teamwork.
A leader should be proactive and people-friendly and avoid using petty controls and regulations, or practise artful creative accounting, double taxing and recovering of costs to full market values that will cause hardship.
He leader should regard people as true partners so that all will have a part to play as a team and all will be totally involved in decision making and effective implementation working towards results.
Above all a leader should motivate his followers in maximizing the utilization of resources to realize innovations, entrepreneurship, application of knowledge and value-add competitiveness.
When leaders have identified all challenges, such challenges should not stay as hidden self-centred images in their mind but be accountably and transparently committed to and laid down in the form of tangible objective-steps processes that truly empower the subordinates to carry them out out without any more top-down instructions or petty controls and so that the team will then work towards attaining the objectives and goals without undue hindrance from leaders' own self-ness or self-centredness.
Only when leaders are finally prepared to "let go" and let his team manage tasks from overall perspectives and committed processes to produce team efficiency and productivity to attain larger results and objectives.
