Drugs at polyclinic cost more than at hospital

The Straits Times
I AM a heart patient who is on long-term medication. I have to take atenolol, omeprazole and simvastatin, among other drugs.
After my discharge from hospital following angioplasty, I go for follow-up appointments at the polyclinic.
The hospital charges 90 cents for 30 tablets of atenolol, while the polyclinic charges $11.20 for 28 tablets of the same drug.
Why does the polyclinic charge such a high price for atenolol? Simvastatin and omeprazole are also sold at a much higher price than at the hospital.
When I pointed out to the dispenser that the price of drugs sold at the polyclinic is too high, she said there were a lot of similar complaints from other patients.
Is the polyclinic not supposed to cater to low-income earners? Where is the so-called subsidy?

Sg govt overpriced land costs, their freaking super salaries and etc......and that of special accounting to make it looks like subsidies. Freaking govt.
