JB property prices have gone up due to the demand from Singaporeans being enticed to purchase properties in JB and other states of Peninsular Malaysia - (read the recent ST report about a large group of Singapore Malays surprised by Banker to a bankrupt property developer) .
Wages have gone up in JB, as the Cost of Living has also gone up in JB - and apparently caused by the large number of Singaporeans who are shopping and eating there on a daily basis.
Singapore WAGES was brought to this astronomical height as a result of the Singapore Government's a.k.a the Ruling Party's Political Vision of achieving a SWISS STANDARD of Living - but somehow had conveniently not informed Singaporeans about the ACCOMPANYING high COST OF living that are experienced by the Swiss.
At least it has been acknowledged that Switzerland enjoy a high rate of creativity and productivity, and has been able to stand on its own in the face of challenges of a Global competition.
It is a well known management case study in the manner in which the Swiss watch industry recovered from their loss of market share by the mass production of Casio, Citizen and Seiko watches.
The Swiss is reputed for their high quality and innovative products, and is able to hold its own against competition from the best industrial countries by simply finding and specializing in niche areas where they can be the best.
Unlike Singapore, Swizterland has a Political System that is TOTALLY PARTICIPATIVE and INCLUSIVE of its CITIZENRY, who are all consulted in any major political decision that affects their community, society, and nation.
It can be seen that nearly all successful FIRST WORLD COUNTRIES that are small and industrialized have POLITICAL SYSTEMS that are OPEN, INCLUSIVE and REQUIRE THE CITIZENS TO BE POLITICALLY PARTICIPATING.
These countries will include JAPAN, SWEDEN, DENMARK, NORWAY, FINLAND, SWITZERLAND, ISRAEL, HOLLAND, BELGIUM.
The wages of the average Swiss and Japanese workers are much higher than that paid to a Singaporean worker - even before and after the current wage and CPF cuts made during the 2002 economic melt-down.
To meet the challenges of Global Competition it require ever higher round of productivity, innovation, creativity - all of which can only exist in an environment in which the Citizenry takes responsibility of their own Lives and for their own future.
Our Singapore Government a.k.a the Ruling Political Party is not mature enough, nor feel confidently secure to allow Singaporeans to be fully participative in POLITICS - which is what it is all about for Singaporeans to take charge of their own future.
Can their continued DOMINANCE in every aspect of Singaporean Life allow Singapore to face World Class Competition ?
The Ruling Party delude themselves and Singaporeans into believing that we belong to the First World, but we still live in a Third World Political System. -
