Terrorism, Elections and the future of SG.
Sad that I have to describe the b/m scary possibilityÂ… but terrorism is really myworry for the 21st century.
How safe are weÂ… can PAP guarantee our safety? ->Â… NOÂ… our safety lies in the hands of mainly our brethren. (not just the govt).
Imagine a terrorist network targeting SG with some disenchanted citizens as their ‘runners’…
They smuggle in 20 hand grenades in the boot of a car via causeway ($5/handgrenade fr Cambodia http://www.oxfamgb.org/eastasia/cambodia/camhandgrenade.html

No one else would knowÂ…
The customs officer wonÂ’t seeÂ…
Those who might know wouldnÂ’t be bothered tellÂ…
And then we find grenades with pins pulled out (handle loosely secured) all over the placeÂ… in the park- wrapped in paper - awaiting a kidÂ’s natural curiosity, neatly placed in a clothing rack awaiting the scramble of shoppers, even tucked between can food/ vegetables in the supermarketÂ…
ItÂ’s scaryÂ… thinking about the possibilitiesÂ… all the culmination of hatred and jealousy.
So tell meÂ… how we could possibly live together happily in this world of infinite possibilitiesÂ…
Is Love the answer?
Technology has exceeded humanity?
How can ALL Singaporeans remain happy?- Do SGporeans have a sense of ownership in our country/ are SGporeans encouraged in responsible citizenry?
Not by more walkover elections please!

I feel numb to injusticeÂ… -
Safety is not just the work of our government. We also have to do our part by being more observant. What the PAP is just this much, if we choose to be ignorant of our surroundings and let terrorists get pass us, it is our fault. You can't blame the government for letting the terrorists get pass you. The soldiers who patrol there only have a pair of eyes, and they can't keep an eye on everything. And mobilizing every soldier in Singapore to keep a lookout for terrorists will cripple the economy. Like you said, if those who know can't be bothered to tell the authorities, at the end, they are the ones who suffer because a successful will cripple our economy. About whether the custom officer will see the grenades, I believe that it is possible, with improvements made to X-ray technologies. One definitely can't stop a kid's curiosity. But is there a way to prevent that tragedy? There is. By being more observant. Keep a lookout for parcels that look suspicious.
I believe that Singaporeans and all those who are living in Singapore to encouraged to practise responsible citizenry. In MRT stations, every few minutes they will announce to keep a lookout for suspicious parcels, bags, etc. The authorities have done their best. If we choose not to, we suffer. We then blame the government for not coming to our rescue in time. But hasn't the government been warning us? -

There's definitely ways to improve this situation. You can remove the GRCs. We can be like Malaysia, where each race contest against another race. We can be like the US. All these are just suggestions, which have their own advantages and disadvantages.

Are there any evidence? It will bring about law suits if it is false.

On what basis do you say that foreigners in Singapore are to replace our ailing population? True, we do have one of the lowest birth rate, but I don't think foreigners will be replacing us. Do you want a foreign political party to be ruling you? That would be defeating the purpose of Lee Kuan Yew. He set up PAP because he wanted independence, and now foreigners are to rule us again.
Charities embroiled in corruption? The case is not settled yet. You can't say that corruption is involved. What we know that funds are not being used the way they are supposed to be used. -

What I'm worried about aren't bombs or explosives of any manner, but biological agents - contageous fast spreading viruses released ANYWHERE.
But if they ever do bombs, I highly suspect that they'd deviantly target some HDB block. -
Viruses can't live for long in the air, unless there is an effective way to spread it. However, bacteria can survive in the air. It would be much more effective to use bacteria if they want to attack us. Singaporeans have been taught to spot suspicious parcels which are most likely to contain bombs or explosives, but not parcels that contain biological agents like anthrax.
HDB is a nice target, because security is damn lax. There's no security guards. I remember I have to do some interviews with people who live in condos, and the security guards there won't let you in. I tried ways to get in (excluding climbing in), but to no avail. For HDB, just live the parcel of bomb on the ground level and set it off you will blow off the whole HDB block. Seen this being done before. -
