Who are those that have been elected into Public Office and were supposed to IMPROVE our lives and have loudly claimed that they are deserving of the MILLION DOLLAR ANNUAL SALARY ?Originally posted by Salman:collect can food, throw bulk rubbish, tuition for kids and help them apply for grants. Try living in US and Canada and see how the govts there suck your money.
Having sucked the monies from the Singapore Citizens through a variety of direct and indirect taxes - and accumulating surplus year-after-year - what has the Government done to help lessen the burden of LIVING IN SINGAPORE ?
Fact is, the gave more than a billion to our citizens but you never heard of it.
They boast and make such loud hoopla publicity each time they returned A BILLION DOLLAR to the Citizen's account - which petered out in any impact as the BILLION DOLLAR is distributed as a ONE TIME PAYMENT amounting to a few HUNDRED DOLLARS when paid out to at least TWO MILLION WORKING SINGAPOREANS.
Not a few thousand but tens of thousands.
Yet they will pay $600 MILLION into an Endowment Fund that benefit only a few thousand P&O retirees; pay $10 BILLION and spend Millions more in a fight to own P&O; pay $3 BILLION to the family of the PM of Thailand to purchase a stake in their family owned conglomerate; pay $10 BILLION to own a small stake in some small banks in Communist China; pay nearly US$1 BILLION to take over a high rise Office Block in downtown Seoul - South Korea.
People toil all over the world, often even more than Singaporeans, and we pay only so little personal tax compared to them.
All these monies used in the overseas financial adventures are sucked from the Singapore Citizens from the annual surplus of the sweat, blood and tears from the daily grind of toiling in Singapore.
I did employ them, but they didn't play their part, just like you.
Can we believe you that you have been able to "collect can food, throw bulk rubbish, tuition for kids and help them apply for grants" - when you cannot even have the heart to employ those older folks who have been retrenched, and the needy who seek some employment ?
Thansk for allowing me to expose you whiners for what you are, doing nothing for the poor.
Thanks for giving us the opportunity of rubbing and exposing the faults of the Government a.k.a the Ruling Political Party - each and every time you lay yourself uselessly in their defense.

I think it is difficult for a graduate to work for any position. First a graduateOriginally posted by claudetnt:MM Lee is spot on - the main issue this election will be whether PAP has improved the standard of living!
I know for a fact that numerous graduates, with excellant post graduate papers and experiences, past their 40s cannot get a decent job with decent pay in the past 8 years. Is the PAP hoping that these guys are going to vote them in?
U heard of such cases? Please share to us.Originally posted by claudetnt:Salman:

What abt the guys who do get jobs like you?
How many percent of the work force don't have jobs?"
Very good question, believe me, i wish i knew but do you know that the govt with the all latest figures up on their computers do not know this fact (the number of graduates above their 40s who are unemployed, working for less salaries and looking for jobs)!
